Spring Break Manageable if Staying On-Site?

Hi....we just made reservations to stay on-site at Universal for 5 days over our 2004 Spring Break (April 10-15) so we'd be there Easter Sunday through the following Thursday. I know Spring Break crowds are really big.....will we be o.k. since we have FOTL? Any days likely to be better days to go to the parks than others. (I'm thinking we might do a couple days in the parks and a couple days relaxing by the pool.) Thanks for the help!

crowds aren't as big a deal if you have FOTL. I'm trying to get my parents to let me go during Spring Break and stay on site.

Still, hit the rides you want to REALLY want to go on before lunch time if possible, or else in the evening. At lunch time even the express line can be a bit backed up. Not as bad as the regular line though!

You can always go back and enjoy the pool at this time if lines are too long.

Otherwise, it's no biggy :)

We went Easter week this year and with FOTL access we had no problem with the crowds. It was great. Temperatures were warm, but not overwhelming. We spent five nights, so we spent a lot of time at the pool which the kids loved.

We went this spring break and had a good time. We got to the parks every day at least 1/2 hour before the official opening time and it was always open by this time. We did lots of rides at opening and used our room keys when the lines started to get long. We took a break most afternoons to swim and rest and returned later and stayed most nights until the parks closed. I think that this plan is better than staying at the hotel for a couple of days and doing the parks for a couple of whole days.

I'm going during my spring break (feb.20-28) and was wondering what the crowds would be like. Since my break is early will I be able to miss them?

February has very light crowds, to me, it's the best month to visit.
Temps can get cold in the morning, usually in the mid 50s. But in the afternoon, it warms up to the mid 70s, and everything is fine. Bring a light jacket, or wear two t-shirts with long pants and you'll be ok. Do the water rides in the afternoon, and change into shorts if it's warm enough.

I thought feb. would be slow, but my dates are listed in peak season. I'm going the week after president's day weekend and the week before march starts so did I just manage to hit the slow week in the middle of peak season?

February and early March are slow. You'll have no problem.
Just remember to check the weather before coming.

and check it just before leaving.

If they have a freak cold snap and temps are in the 40s then dress accordingly. The lowest I've seen it is 50.
You should be fine at the end of February.

Excellent, I'm really glad to hear that the crowds will be light. I'm still looking for hotels so any suggestions would be appreciated. I won't be renting a car so if anyone knows of a hotel with a great shuttle system please let me know.

Staying onsite is the BEST. The HRH was so great! You can do SO MUCH staying onsite, riding the attractions over and over if you like. Everything is so close to the HRH. You will love it so much. We enjoyed the HRH over the BW in a heartbeat!

The Royal Pacific is definitely one to consider also! The least expensive and yet the most beautiful of all 3 onsite hotels. I've stayed there twice so far and will be going back soon. It's so pretty! And the beds are sooo comfortable and nice extra long feather pillows (though it makes it hard to get up in the morning!! :p )...and a short walk or water taxi ride away from the parks. It's closer to Islands of Adventure, but we go to Universal Studios more than IOA and the walk to there is no problemo.

Truely check this hotel out. Employees are so friendly and my parents enjoyed the pool.

Hard Rock has a cool pool with 1 slide and rock music playing underwater. Haven't seen the inside of the rooms though.
