Spring Break 2011 on the DREAM

We have a lot of FEs, I did one package for each cabin ("Adult FE") and 1 package per child for a total of 93 bags.

24 pounds is 384 oz, divide that by 93 each bag only weighs 4.1oz...but actually, the kids bags weigh (estimating) 50% more than the adults, so based on that, the adults weigh approx 3 oz and the kids weigh 4.8 oz.

I'll see if my estimates are right when I get home tonight. As for hints...Nope...Not gonna happen...You'll find out in 13 days or so... :goodvibes

Just finished my FE's!!! Yeah! I have one bag for each child and one bag for each cabin. I have 3 grocery bags full sorted by deck. I'm trying to decide how to get them there. Should I ship them ahead to the hotel where we are staying the night before and just carry the box on? Or should I pack them in our luggage knowing we'll need the extra space coming home? My husband is going to kill me when he sees how much we are bringing.:rolleyes1 Decisions, decisions.

Um, yep, way behind here as well!:goodvibes The good thing is that Meg will be able to put everything together on our drive down. . . At least that's what I'm hopin!

Since our drive is just a little over 2 hours, that won't give me much time or room to work. Plus, in my change of plans, there is no concrete plan for the FE's. I'm waiting on a bunch of stuff I ordered last minute because the stuff I was making was taking too much time. Plus, it looked like poo compared to what Melody (JackNMel) made for her FE gifts.

They did not look like poo MeanQueen!! I think they are cute!
I put all of the FE gifts into their own suitcase, I figure I will fill it back up with all the cool stuff we get in our own FE to take back home.
I have one child packed so far, working on the others a little at a time.
Hubby booked a room at Country Inn and Suites from some points he had, so we will be in Orlando the night before. That will shorten the drive for us, and hopefully if I can get packed ahead of time, we can go over to Universal Studios for the day. I love the frozen butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, plus I would love to see it at night when it is all lit up!

Counting down the days...:banana::banana::banana:

I tried to talk my hubby into booking a room, but his fantasy baseball draft won't end until almost 10 that night. So instead we will get up very early and drive up on Sunday.

stupid draft!

I can't believe we are getting so close. My to do list is a mile long, I better get going on it, but I am so tired!! 4 shifts in 5 days has knocked me out, and I am running on 4 hours of sleep...I really need to catch up.

Who is as excited as I am?:banana::banana:

Besides the bananas...

Me! Me! Me! Me! :rotfl:
So is Vicky and Redgirl (DD8)...

Just less than 234 hours until we'll be at the port to check in... :)

But we'll be leaving for the airport in just under 180 hours... :dance3: :dance3::dance3:

Me! But I'm also very busy planning my little ones 5th birthday this weekend. I'm starting to wonder why we decided to have it at home. I hate cleaning the house.

Well to get ready for the trip, my little one (5) decided to cut her own bangs today. Oh, how I'd envisioned us getting the perfect family photo on this trip and using it on your Christmas card. I have to say, you all will know who we are now - we're the ones with the little girls whose bangs are the shortest thing you've ever seen.

I don't know. I did a pretty bad hack job on my oldest girls bangs when she was 2. But I'll make sure my little girl knows to not do the same just cause her new friend did. ;)

Oh wow, I feel your pain, but it is too funny!:lmao:
Your pictures will make for a great story to embarrass your child with years from now!!
See you on the ship!

Something similar happened to us before our cruise last year. I had the same grand plan- to use our formal night picture for our Christmas cards. After a fateful trip to the Barber before our cruise (insisted upon by DH), I was mortified. As the months went past, I began to see the humor in it and used one of the pictures anyway. The family still talks about my son's "haircut". And we all laugh.
I learned an important lesson. Do't let your DH go to the barber with your son, alone, and then let the son have complete control on exactly how short to go(we could see skin-but not all over). Well, not before a trip where their willl be photos anyway. :scared1:
He isn't allowed to take my daughter to the hairdresser!!

Oh no I'm so sorry but I totally feel your pain my dd cut her hair in September two weeks before her preschool pics. Needless to say those pics did not turn out how I envisioned them. She didn't cut her bangs but both sides of the front of her hair. I hope your dd hair grows back faster than my dd hair is. Hopefully you'll still be able to get a nice family pic. She just doesn't want you to forget this little moment. I know that I will never forget Jenna's self haircut. :guilty:

speaking of pictures.....this is our first cruise so I am wondering how many opportunities are there for family pictures? And do you buy them by the sheet or do they do something along the lines of the photopass cd?

I can't believe it is almost here:cool1: We are soooo excited well, at least DH and I are! The kids still don't know:thumbsup2 We managed to keep the secret for a year:woohoo:

But the kids are excited about heading to Disney World.....we are just checking out sooner than they think.....but then we will check back in after the cruise. LOVIN SPRING BREAK

Thanks

Glad to know I'm not the only one this has happened to! Just went shopping for some of those giant soft heads to hopefully cover it - though I know she won't keep those in long! But I got some to match her outfits for the trip, so maybe they'll work for a picture.:lmao: As this happened, I of course was ironing some transfers onto shirts for our trip. Or the irony! Still looking forward to lots of fun with the family and all of you. First cruise ever, and we can't wait. We fly out one week from today.

This time next Saturday we will be on the plane to Orlando.

While my son knows about the cruise, he does not know that we will spend 3 days at WDW after. All our other cruises have just involved lunch at Downtown Disney before heading home. He's always asked to stay, but we never had the time.

Finishing up FE gifts today, trying on all our outfits and packing as much as possible today.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and see you soon!

Remy’s reservations

We have reservation for 6:40PM on Tuesday March 29th and have decided to cancel. We are already doing Palo dinner (free!) and brunch and don’t want to miss that many family dinners on a short cruise.

Does anyone want me to try to time the cancelation for them to quick grab it? Would that even work?
