I wanna try to spray tan. If you spray tan I'd like to hear hints and tips about it.

I got one a couple of years ago before a vacation - the expensive kind the "artist" airbrushes onto you, not the automatic, stand on the foot-prints kind. I was pretty unimpressed with it and once I washed the tinted part off the self-tanner part barely took at all. I think I spent about $80 on it which I wouldn't do again. I'll stick with the stuff from the drugstore to take the "edge" off my winter legs and upper arms.

I'm afraid it will look orange

I've gotten it a few times. I didn't feel ornage, however after a few days it did get blochy.

I had gotten them for my engagement party and bridal shower.

I got one years ago in college before a spring break trip. Im a redhead and am very fair. I have never been tan but decided to give this a try. The girl airbrushed one coat of the stuff on and said to check it out (they usually do 2 coats). I looked in the mirror and had to hold back the tears! One coat was WAY more than enough for me. I ran out of the salon crying and called my mom saying that I looked like Magda, the old woman from There's Something About Mary. That was the day I fully embraced my bright whiteness!

I have a lot of friends who swear by spray tans. They still seem orange tinted to me though. Def do a test run before doing it before any big event.
Spray tan also always reminds me of Ross on Friends! hehehe

I haven't had one for a reason. Have seen too many friends do so with bad results (streaking, orange, coming off on clothes).

I have gone to Zoom tan a couple times. It will generally last about 4-5 days. Make sure you get it 24 hours in advance if you are having a function so you can "fix" any messed up parts. IE scrub off too much or add self tanner to missed spots.

I have had better luck with the foaming self tanner bought from HSN (or QVC I forget). That works great, lasts about the same amount of time and you can easily re-apply to missed or messed up parts.

No matter what you do, spray tans will always look orange and/or streaky. I prefer the real thing with sunscreen, not only for looks but for the mood boost.

My daughter did it before her wedding.....BAD IDEA, she was blotchy and spotty after.
We had to do major scrub down with a scrungee sponge it was a mess to get it off.

I haven't had one in YEARS but I did have a few in high school (for cotton ball, senior prom). I am pale ivory and have dark blonde hair that I highlight to light blonde. I did the machine kind - only a level 1. Anything else would have been terrifying on me because I am super pale. It looked really nice on me - the least orange of anything I had ever tried. In natural sun I burn very, very easily. I tried the tanning bed one time in high school and ended up in the ER with hives all over me - I scratched until I bled in places and they had to give me two cortisol shots to calm my skin down. It was insane. ANYWAY, I don't do any of it anymore (I have embraced the paleness, lol), but it worked out great for me in high school.

My daughter is planning on getting one on Thursday in preparation for her prom which is on Saturday. She did a test run last week and I thought it looked fine. She is blonde with pale skin but normally tans easily thanks to my dark Italian husband. The color after spraying made her look like she does after a week of summer vacation. I didn't notice it being orange or streaky.

The two times I did it, it looked really, really natural and good. I don't know if I just have magical skin or what :confused3 I've seen people look horrible and orange with them before, but mine looked great. I think maybe because I got the lightest level? I dunno. I just looked lightly bronzed - I think if you do a really high level it makes it look unnatural. I guess! Haha

I get one every Wed from Suntan City (versa spa) I'm as fair as they come, blonde hair, green eyes, always burn. I get the clear, lvl 1. I shower after 3-4 hours of being sprayed (wash my face and hands around 1.5) and have never had a problem with streaking/blotches. I shave the day before and exfoliate and shower morning of, go to work then come home wash my face and head on up there. I pile on the barrier cream to my hands and feet, then lightly to my elbows, ankles and knees. Don't use bar soap .. For some reason my spray tan hated it lol! Good luck, I really think you will like it!
