My family and I have been going to Disney for several years now and only once did we happen to be *fortunate? enough to be staying at the All Stars the very same time they were having a convention of Cheerleaders and their friends.

I had popped in on the boards to do a little reading before our trip on Jan 2. I saw a post about the sports events and thought I'd follow the link to see what may be going on during our stay. Well wouldn't you know they are having an event for:
KSA Wrestling Tournament
January 2-4, 2003
and
2002 USAIGC Disney Team Cup
January 2 - 4, 2003

We'll be at WDW from Jan 2 until Jan 5. We are leaving on the 5th so we aren't really going to be able to enjoy anything that day. The clincher is that I happened to book rooms at the ALL Stars this time too. The little one likes the "Big" stuff at those resorts.

I do know they have a package for the ALL Star for the gymnastic teams but I'm not sure of the accomodations for the wrestling teams.

Has anyone been at the resorts with the gymnastics and/or wrestling teams? I'm more concerned with the wrestling teams, I think. I'm sure the pools will be off limits for us if they are there. I have a little girl who is not found of rough play. Any thoughts? Should I try to upgrade to a moderate resort? HHHEEEELPPPP! Please. Oh! will CRO tell me if these teams are booked there?

I appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks!

I think that you will be able to go to a different pool within the AS complex if your pool is too rowdy. In defense of the sports teams the children are in a competition and they will need to get sleep in order to do well in the event.

I guess you have not been around or in this resort when these kids were around. We did, for 13 days of pure hell and complaint after complaint did nothing. Management did nothing about it. Their answer is that they had posted extra security.

Believe me, my kids compete and go away and I chaperone, and I make sure that this behavior is not tolerated because I understand that other people are on vacation. However, each time we have been to WDW and encountered a group of athletes, they were all obnoxious.

It doesn't matter which pool, when you have a bunch of snots, who curse, spit and make rude and obscene comments. We experienced these, including the way why eldest (20 yrs. at the time), could enjoy having s## with them. There was no need for this and when we did answer them back to leave us alone, we were spit at. So, don't tell me that I imagined it, I didn't.

We agreed, no matter what - if we can't afford one of the deluxe or moderates, we don't do Disney.
