**spoilers*** Lost Season Five **spoilers**

lol I love little details like this that the show does. This probably has no signifiance AT ALL to the story line, but is a little extra that is in the background... kind of like a hidden mickey!!

That's how I think of them too! lol

Speaking of Ana Lucia, didn't the Marshall escorting Sayid look an awful lot like her?

I thought the same thing.

I also posted this on the non-spoiler thread:

I subscribe to the About.com Lost updates, and there were a couple of interesting things about this week's episode:

316 Theories
I think that certain people must have known that Oceanic Flight 815 was going to fly through the island window and these people made sure that certain people were on that flight so that the island could bring them to the island.

Jack's grandfather says that one of these days he's actually going to get away from the home and they won't ever find him. I think he knows about the island, and that's where he would go if he got away.

As much as I don't want it to be true, I think Ben went to the marina to kill Penny. He told Charles he was going to, and when he saw Desmond, he knew that Penny must be nearby.

Who is the man who gave his condolences to Jack as he walked away from the airline ticket counter? We also saw him on the plane? I think he's going to end up on the island too. I think the island wants him for something.

I think Hurley might be on the plane because Charlie told him to go and also told him to take one of his guitars (though I can't think of why the guitar would need to go other than the fact that there was a guitar on the original flight).

The island wants Jack to read the note from Locke, which is why he can't get rid of it.

On the plane, they saw the light and heard the humming sound and then they were suddenly on the island. Jack, Kate, and Hurley don't remember the crash. I don't think the plane crashed, I think the island pulled the people it wanted to the island and the rest went on their way. Which means more than the Oceanic 6 could have gone to the island and the island may not have wanted Ben.

Observations from 316

Eloise tells Jack to start thinking about whether or not he thinks the plan to get back to the island is going to work. "That's why it's called a leap of faith, Jack." As we've seen in the past, Jack has been a man of science. Here in the future, though, he has been much more of a man of faith.

When we first see Christian walking around the island, he is wearing a suit and a pair of white tennis shoes. After he'd died, Jack put the tennis shoes on him, thinking that no one would see his feet, so that he would be ready for the funeral as soon as he got back to L.A.

Ben tells Jack that Locke's body is at Simon's Butcher Shop, which is the butcher shop that Charlie's father, Simon, owned.

Jack listed Locke's body as Jeremy Bentham rather than John Locke.

Lost fan noniflower points out that when Jack asks Ben how he can read, Ben says, "My mother taught me." But Ben's mother died just after he was born.

So.....what do you folks think of the parts I put in bold?

Some of my thoughts:

Jack's grandfather: I just figured they threw him into the show as a way for Jack to get something of his father's to take back to the island - the shoes. But maybe there's more to it than that?

Looks like they agree with us about the guy at the airport, and that Charlie told Hurley to get on the plane.

Pretty interesting the part about the flash/humming and Jack, Hurley and Kate not remembering the crash. I like the idea that the island pulled the people it wanted from the plane and the rest continued on their way. What I found REALLY interesting is the part that maybe the island did NOT want Ben? We're going to have to keep watching to see if Ben is back on the island.

Simon's Butcher Shop where Locke's body was held was owned by Charlie's father. Another connection..... And how in the world do people keep track of this kind of stuff??:confused3

Wow - nobody's posted yet after last night's episode?

I posted this on the non-spoiler thread:

I had some more thoughts about last night's show; let me know what you guys think about this:

- ok, so flight 316 crashes, the Oceanic 6 flash back to the 1970's and the rest of the plane and passengers are on the beach at the "present" time. So why did Alanna (the deputy woman) and that other guy know where to find an office and what were they looking for?

- and we're assuming since we saw that Jack, Kate and Hurley flashed back to the 1970's, but we haven't seen Sun - can we assume Sun flashed back with them since she was one of the Oceanic 6? But Locke and Ben didn't flash back, they seem to be on the island in the present time.

- after the crash when Locke was staring into the ocean and that deputy woman (Alanna??) was talking to him, she said that the pilot and "a woman" took one of those outrigger canoes. DH and I assumed that the "woman" was one of the flight attendants. If so, why didn't Alanna say "the pilot and a flight attendant" took the canoe? So "woman" has to be another passenger. Can't be Sun since she's one of the Oceanic 6 and would have flashed back to the 1970's where Jack, Hurley and Kate are. It has to be another female passenger on the plane, someone who sat back in coach and we didn't see……what about Penny? Maybe she and Desmond (I'm hoping Desmond is still alive and Ben didn't kill him) got on the plane after all, and maybe Penny couldn't find Desmond after the crash, so she and Frank Lapidus took the canoe to look for him?

- I thought maybe that woman who went in the canoe could also be Eloise Hawkings, that she got on the plane for some reason, but the more I thought about it, it seems like she's the one who stays in the "real" world and coordinates things with the island.

- Eloise Hawkings is bothering me. She obviously knows and works with Widmore (Widmore was financing Daniel's research, Widmore knew exactly where she was since he gave Desmond her address) and she obviously knows and works with Ben. Why is she playing both sides? Does SHE know which one, Ben or Widmore, is the good guy? Or…..is she working to help THE ISLAND, and figures that the feud between Ben and Widmore is just some side story and she doesn't really care which one of Ben or Widmore "wins" their fight as long as she saves the island?

- Maybe Eloise Hawkings is Jacob!!

So personally, I did not like last night's episode. I think I have gotten accustomed (sp?) to Lost doing nothing but making me ask more questions and maybe answering one or two things. Last nights episode didn't really do either of those things until the last 5 minutes or so - and then it just showed that Locked died.. :confused3 I don't know..I just didn't like it much. I'm ready for next week!!

Ben is a crazy man. He saves Locke just to do that. I knew he was going to say something to him afterwards.

We don't know for sure that all of the O6 went to the same time together. Could be they were all thrown willy nilly to several differant times. :thumbsup2
And Ben killing Locke, something really weird going on there. Why talk him out of it then do the deed himself? Although it could be that if Locke killed himself he couldn't have come back.

I think you are right on.
Like heaven and hell. People that commit suicide don't go to heaven...

Do you think the reason why Ben killed Lock was because the Island wouldn't let Locke kill himself. Remember how many times Michael tried to kill himself and he couldn't

I'm with you. I'm not a huge Locke fan so I figured I wouldn't really enjoy this episode and I was right, especially after how amazing last week was. But the episode did have a few cool things.

No, I think he saved him, because he didn't know how to get back to the island. When Locke told him he had to go to Eloise, that was all Ben needed so he killed him. I do think the whole suicide thing might be at play, because if Ben really wanted Locke out of the way, he wouldn't have brought him back in the coffin on the plane. But if it was that Locke couldn't kill himself--Ben could've let him try a few times and then tell him that he can't kill himself and THEN kill him. I don't know.

How did Locke know he had to go to Eloise??? I don't remember anyone telling him about her...Did Christian?

My bigger questions are with Walt. Why is he still dreaming about Locke and the island? And why didn't anyone bother to tell him about his father's heroic demise? Unless no one knows? Desmond and Jin were the only ones down there...did any of the other O6 know he was on the ship? Locke did, so I think some of them knew. I just can't remember. It just bugs me that he doesn't know what happened to Michael and how he redeemed himself. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of Walt though.

I wasn't as thrilled with last nights show. I like Locke and was excited to get some info, but why did we really need to see him going to the O6 people? I mean, we know he did it, we didn't get a lot of info out of it...seemed like there was a lot more that we could have seen.

Also, I'm wondering if Helen is really dead or if that was planned so he would want to go back to the island?

Still trying to figure out who the bad guy is too...Widmore, Ben or both?

I had a hard time with Locke deciding to kill himself so quickly. Like Ben said, he didn't even try Sun. Plus shouldn't he have faith that the island would help him since that's what his character is all about?

Oh and I thought Widmore's quip about his new name was clever. All of us behind-the-scene, crazy easter egg people love searching people's names, so we know that John Locke was an English philosopher and so was Jeremy Bentham, so I thought it was cool that Widmore said he picked the new name since Locke's parents had picked the old one. :thumbsup2

Widmore told Locke to go to Eloise. And Sun saw Michael on the ship--I'm surprised she never told Walt.

I had a hard time with Locke deciding to kill himself so quickly. Like Ben said, he didn't even try Sun. Plus shouldn't he have faith that the island would help him since that's what his character is all about?

Just like when Charlie swam down to the underwater station knowing that he was going to drown, Locke knew that he had to die. Remember that Richard told Locke that he'd have to die in order to save the island, and then when Locke fell down in the well and Christian told him he had to move the wheel, Locke asked Christian if he (Locke) was going to die and Christian said "that's what sacrifice means."

Locke knew that he'd have to die, so once he talked to all the Oceanic 6 (except Sun), maybe he thought if he killed himself that would finish his duty to the island. Locke believed it was his destiny to die, so maybe he thought killing himself was the way it was supposed to be.

I think Locke was so quick to kill himself because he was told that he'd have to die in order to bring the others back to the island. He tried getting them to go back by talking to them, it wasn't working, so he figured the part about him dying was the only way to do it.

I also think it looked like Ben waited to hear about Eloise before killing Locke. He (Ben) did say that he didn't know what to do next or something like that, so as soon as Locke told him, he had no more use for him.

I definitely think they are both bad guys. They each have good points (they both love their daughters) and they both have many, many bad points! ::yes::

I had a hard time with Locke deciding to kill himself so quickly. Like Ben said, he didn't even try Sun. Plus shouldn't he have faith that the island would help him since that's what his character is all about?

Locke promised Jin that he wouldn't go to Sun. I think Locke has some faults, but he believes that he his good, and for his own believe system he has to keep that promise.

I bet that Ben goes to Eloise and she tells him that Locke has to go back one way or the other, go get the body! :thumbsup2

Ben got the info he needed but doesn't realize that he made a BIG mistake in killing Locke.

NO LOST NEXT WEEK????? What's going on? Is it March Madness already?

I don't want to spoil it for the folks on the West coast, so the only thing I'll say is I loved it when Sawyer called Richard "eyeliner dude"!
