On our upcoming trip, we are driving through the night to get to our happy place, and then heading to Typhoon Lagoon after we check in at WL.

So last night I had the brilliant idea (if I do say so myself) to splurge on a beachcomber shack. DH & I are good about switching off during our overnight drives, and we can both doze well in the car, but it is exhausting & we do need to recharge the next day. Seems like a nice shady cabana with drinks delivered as needed is just the ticket!

:woohoo:

This is definitely a win win we really thought it was money well spent.

we haven't done the Beachcomber Shack, but last year we had a Polar Patio at Blizzard Beach. We definitely thought it was worth it. We had the best day, were not stressed at all about finding seats, getting to our locker, etc. We were on the DDP and when our attendant brought us lunch, we did not really want the dessert. She told us we didn't have to have it right then and to just let her know when we were ready, so about two hours later we were able to ask for Mickey Ice Cream bars as our dessert that went with our DDP! DH is a a big water park lover, so to feel like a king for the day at one of his very favorite places meant the world to him (I'd reserved it as a surprise for him).

Told DS (12) about our splurge (surprise for everyone else!) and he gave me the biggest hug! I love making my guys happy! :goodvibes

Can you provide the cost of the Beachcomber shack and the amenities it includes? Thank you!

The price changes based on season, but ours with tax was $345.

It includes:

~ A covered cabana for 6 with padded chairs
~ A cooler filled with ice & water bottles (refilled as needed)
~ Towels (replaced as needed)
~ 6 Refillable mugs
~ A locker in the cabana
~ An attendant that will take care of the above, as well as make food/drink runs for you.

Great! Thank you. :)

Would it be weird if I reserved a shack for only two of us?
It sounds so nice. I don't mind splurging.

We book one every time we go. As pasty white New Englanders I need to know I have a nice shady spot. I won't go without renting one. Not a splurge, a necessity. My family of 5 loves it.

I don't think it would be weird at all! If it will make the two of you happy, then go for it!

Are the shacks located in one area of the park or in various locations around the lazy river perimeter?
Beth

There are 2 areas... one by the wave pool, and one by the lazy river (near getaway glen).
