Spliting a meal on a voucher

Has anyone experienced any problems spliting a meal when using a voucher ($30.25) lunch at a sit down restaurant??

Or has the other person been required to purchase something also?

We used two vouchers for three adults at RFC in Animal Kingdom in December and had no problems.

Have split the more expensive lunch vouchers at Le Cellier and Marrakesh without a problem, and the Q&C vouchers at Beaches 'n Cream. We usually order an extra drink and an extra dessert, though. Not because we were required to do so, but because we didn't want to share a drink (and both of us wanted more than just water) and we each wanted a different dessert!

Share Away - most WDW restaurant portions are huge. In fact, I couldn't have appetizer, entree and dessert at the same meal if I didn't share. Way too much food for me. My DH & I frequently share even without a voucher. The waiters/waitresses don't seem to mind at all. We tip as though we ordered two meals, though.

do you tell them ahead of time you are using vouchers?? I have three small kids, (plus one large DH LOL)and would like to try to get away with 2 vouchers for a meal (I am not a big eater, and my kids only eat a little bit, 2,3 and 5). I thought about using the vouchers, and getting some sides or ala carte's to go along with it....do you get dirty looks or anything??

We didn't get one dirty look. Told the waiter/waitress ahead of time so that they tell us what was included or not. We always tip extra so that she/he didn't lose a thing. FWIW, the vouchers include a 15% tip. My understanding is that the tip is calculated on the cost of the food/drink ordered as opposed to the value of the voucher. Apparently, many people do not tip 15%, so the more savvy wait staff actually like to see these things.

We share food from these all the time. Otherwise there woud just be too much food. I always put the vouchers on the table and mention them before we order. From my experiences the waitstaff seem to really like when you use them. As CarolMN suggested they get the tip based 15% of the total bill, they encourage you to share and often upsell. We usually order one extra drink and an extra dinner salad and tip on that as well. With two children and one adult voucher there are always three full appetizers, everyone gets an entree/side and then there are three desserts as well. At Beaches and Cream we usually use one voucher for every two people in the party. Have fun!

Just want to repeat that the vouchers are such a great deal. We used a lunch voucher In Italy and had no problems, We ordered some of the most expensive items on the menu and everything was fine.

We routinely shared a meal at B&C, and often could not finish. (My DH is a BIG eater and we still had plenty) The only time we would use 2 vouchers is when we wnated to eat different things at B&C. ANd then I would have to bring half of my dinner home and most of the ice cream. The portions are LARGE!

Can you use those Q&Cs to purchase breakfast in resort restaurants?

No Q&C's are only for counter service lunch or dinner. The breakfast vouchers can be used at manyof the counter service restaurants but they are not a good value or even a breakeven when used this way.

We have split meals at CRT and LeCelllier and never had a problem! Of course, we usually ordered an extra salad, or dessert and drink, too. Vouchers work great! Enjoy them!

I don't think a lot of people tip extra when sharing, but we do.

At Beaches & Cream I just ordered a milk for DS & split some of my food with him. It seemed to me that he made a mess, slowed down the meal, and generally earned a tip for the server. So I left one when I paid for the milk. He was so surprised to get it! I almost always leave a little extra when I don't pay for DS, but apparently the server didn't see that often.

I figure, what's a couple of dollars compared to the cost of a Disney vacation? We still saved money with the vouchers.
