has anyone ever stayed at a good neighbor hotel for a few nights then switch to a resort hotel? Is it a hassle? Did u lose park time making the switch? It's a dream of ours to stay at the disneyland hotel, but we can't swing 6 nights (we always do a 5 day hopper), but we can do 3 nights. Just wondering what others thoughts are.

Yes, we have done this twice. Both times we started off with a stay at BWPPI and then one time, we switched over to DLH and another time, we were at PPH. This was easier on the pocket book since most of our stays average 10 nights. 5 nights at BWPPI and 5 nights at a Disney hotel.

Disney127, did u like DLH over PPH? Our daughter loves stitch, so we were thinking of doing surfs up over goofys kitchen next time. I really want to see the light up headboards though!!

We loved the light up headboards at DLH but loved the California Adventure/WOC view better at PPH. DD is a Stitch fan too and we eat at Surf's Up every time we go. We have also tried Goofy's twice but like Surf's Up better for the characters interactions. Some prefer the theming more at the DLH but PPH fits us with the beach theme and we never had elevators issues as some have posted. Both hotels are great and it just depends on what you would like :-)

We did 2 nights @ HoJo's then 2 nights @ GCH. It was great. On the morning of the switch we walked to GCH (w/o our bags) at 7am so we could check in - we then were able to do the 8am EMH. After a few hours we went back to HoJo's to check out and then took a cab to GCH where (by luck) our room was ready - otherwise we would have just stored our bags. Loved being able to do both and take advantage of EMH on that check in day. I heard you can check in as early as 6am so you could also make a 7am EMH day.
