Split stay/meal plan/would second half ticket work for later visit

We are splitting our vacation between two resorts. Because we want the meal plan for the entire visit, we are buying a one-day ticket for the second half of our stay to get the package.
I have two questions: will they put our tickets on our room key? Will we be able to use the ticket at a future visit if we the meal options in the parks but not use the ticket for entry into the park?
