Split Stay Affect on 90+10?

Its ok, I just took out my frustration over not being able to make my ADRs out on you, so its me who should apologize. So, I'm sorry. I booked an additional day because I don't like to lose a day on my tix. So, I always add a day only ressie, that way, the next morning when my package begins we get to be there ALL day. But I was very frustrated that I see others are able to make their ADRs even though they have booked almost exactly as I did, and I wasn't able to book anything other than the 16th, so I guess I'll have to call again in the morning to see if I can get the rest.

Apology accepted:hug:
I can only imagine how frustrated you must be. I would be too. I think your idea for the room only ressie is a great idea. Eventhough I did it for the better air fair I will say that I was very excited to have a day to enjoy the pools, and rest up before we hit the parks.

Don't give up trying today. I just saw that PADISFAM finally got through and got a CM to book her split stay.

Good luck! and keep us posted on what you get!:thumbsup2

I was yelling at DH earlier.................

my split does involve changing resorts..

I just called back to just book Tony's on the 16th & she (Janice-- my new hero!) simply asked for my next choice after booking Tony's & I was able to finish all my ADRs -- even got Cindy's at 8:20 :cool1::cool1::cool1:

YEAH:dance3::banana:THANK HEAVEN FOR JANICE! AND MY CM TOO (eventhough I don't know her name:confused:):yay::yay:

Thanks everyone for the moral support :goodvibes

good luck to everyone still trying :wizard:

I'm off to get out of my jammies -- since I've been up since before 7am

Wow, so sorry to hear so many of you are having problems making your ressies. It doesn't seem like there is any consistent answer to this which is what is frustrating. If no one was allowed to make all ressies with a split stay then I think we'd all feel better since the same rules apply to everyone but it seems to depend on which CM you get so them telling us "it can't be done" is just ridiculous since we know it can.

I am DVC and we are on the dining plan and the first CM I spoke with would not let me make ressies past the first check out date. We are switching on Aug 16th too, which has absolutely nothing to do with the free dining -- we booked last Sept. Then I spoke with Guest Services who helped me to make the rest of my ressies from 8/16-8/21.

I actually called back yesterday (just the regular dining line) and the CM I spoke with made 3 additional ressies for me all in the second part of our trip even though the 90 days for that part of our ressie technically doesn't start until tomorrow.

Hopefully since this is a new system it's just a glitch and they are working on fixing it. So many people do split stays for so many reasons, they really need to recognize this as a problem and do something about it. Well we can only hope, right?:goodvibes

Good luck to all who are still trying :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Why would you keep calling back waisting CM's time which is revenue based after knowing the rules? And then post the CM's name that booked it for you? "Janice" will now prob get in trouble now, oh well, she shouldn't have booked it in the 1st place!!

Member services was a "no-go" as well for my split stay.

I actually changed my first night (the night I added on) from BLT back to Kidani Village so I could then make my reservations.

Got everything I wanted - CRT, LeCellier. etc.

Now I dont have to sit throught the madness tomorrow!:cool1:

I got everything! The CM didn't even ask about my split stay reservation. Most amazingly, I have secured "Le Cellier" for dinner on 8/17 @5pm for 11 people....

WOO HOO thanks for the advice! I had my DH call back and we was able to book our whole week and we got PERFECT TIMES!!!
She said there were certain places that we wouldnt be able to book until tomorrow..like the castle meals, but we werent looking for any of those!

We got Le Cellier for 5:15!! and Chef Mickeys on our first day for 8:30 am

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

In case you have not read previous posts, many other CM's are giving the customers what they want, thus providing good customer service. I hardly think Disney will reprimand a CM for giving good customer service.

If we don't eat there is no revenue!!

We do know the rules that is why this is such an upsetting situation.

It can be done, however some CM's are choosing not to!

Do you really think there is only 1 Janice that answers out of 500 CM's? And truly, as a manager, I wouldn't be checking bloggs to see if my CM was helping a customer.

Waisting time? that is their job and calls coming in is job security. I am sure that they welcome the calls especially since they are fixing to introduce the on-line reservations that could possibly cause a downsize in reservation CM's. The reservations wether split or not should be allowed to be booked on the 1st day of your check in. IMO.

I was fortunate to get a CM that would book my entire vacation and mine is a split but if she wouldnt have, I would have called back, like the other posts, to get a CM that would.

These are just my thoughts.:)

No one is breaking any rules -- according to the supervisor I spoke w/ (& yep- I know her name too -- cause see she gave it to me for the very reason of good customer service) -- it is a 'system issue' & she would be working to correct it & to get my ADRs. Disney notoriously has computer system issues, which is why I asked to speak w/ a supervisor. Disney also notoriously has one CM tell you one thing and another CM tell you something totally different, (which is why I chose to 'waist' the CMs time). Neither one of these issues is my problem -- it's Disney's. It is up to the guests to inform Disney of the issues their customers face. Janice did a fine job at customer service which is her job -- being rude to customers such as Davontay is not. I took proper measures & wrote to guest services about Davontay's behavior. Just a guess but --I'm thinking Disney supervisors have more important things to do than read on the Dis -- hence the email to guest services. Now -- back to the revenue issue -- had I not gotten the ADRs that I wanted I would not have eaten at those places -- therefore Disney would have lost out on my paid reservations. And IMO the mindset of 'there is always the next person in line to take your place' --though true -- it is still poor business sense & poor customer service.

Ugh. I check in on August 15th, and start free dining from the 16th - 23rd. I tried and was not able to make my ressies. I am worried because I have to leave at 7:50am for a doctor's appointment at 8am and will not be able to hold for very long. :sad2:

I just noticed your diboard name.....IMACM......I'M A CM. So you work for Disney as a CM? On the reservation line? That is great that we have an inside source to answer some questions? If you will.
I would really like to know why we would/should not be able to book our reservations 90+10 on the 1st day of our reservations, whether it is a split or not. I am just totally confused about that:confused:.
And why would there be such discrepancies in the CM's as to some that do it without any ?'s at all and others that say that they can not do it period. Maybe if we know the why behind it, it will help us all understand.

Thank your for any help that you have to offer. And please don't tell on Janice, she truly sounds like she was trying to provide excellent customer service, like the CM that I got this morning.

Melanie,

Am I understanding you right that you were first able to book 90+10 then you called back daily to add the rest of your trip day by day? :confused3

I hope this is the case for me we have 14nights of ADR's to book. :rolleyes1

Yep - we are there for 18 nights. Our first ressie is the only one I pulled up at any time to book all 18 nights. We are staying 9 nights on the first ressie and 9 nights on the second free dining ressie. Last Saturday I was able to book 11 days worth of dining and then I've just called daily since then and finished yesterday for a full 18 days of dining :)

The calling daily wasn't the 90 day mark of each day, it was the 90 +10 day! I had several people give me a hassle about you have to wait till 5/18 to book for my second reservation, but all but tried it for me when I asked them if they could just try. Several were ok once I said I'm arriving on 8/7. After I mentioned 8/7 they said -oh Ok no problem. Only one person said no and I just called back and didn't have a problem after that.

WELL SAID PADISFAM....WELL SAID! Being a manager at a huge corporation myself, customer service is key to being successful. It is the CM's(employee's) that can make or break your company. It is our job as managers to weed out the employee's that do not want to go over and beyond to help our customers. Like the Disney reservation CM's; at my company, every employee on ever call is surveyed and then the call is observed to double and triple check the customer service. Poor customer service is not tolorated. But going over and beyond to help a customer is celebrated. So to Janice and the other CM's (like the one that I worked with this morning) that have gone over and above to help their customers and make their experience truly magical ,I applaud you all! You are what makes Disney the happiest place on earth and a place where I want to vacation! :worship::worship::worship: :worship::worship::worship:

Woo hoo - Glad to hear that!!

I had CM and a "supervisor" tell me no way will they will book anything as far as theyt are concerned I am checking out on the 16th and that is the last day I could book. After 45 plus trips to WDW and never having this issue I was quite upset, but knew to keep trying. The next call I got a nice gentleman who had no problems booking all ressies for my stay Aug 17th LeCellier was a no go for Dinner even the early seatings (but I picked it up later) and got a 3:40 pm for Fantasmic Package earlier than we wanted, but it will do, guess counter service breakfast that day or late night snack when we get back to the resort.

Good Luck to everyone!
