So, I conquered my fear of EE today:thumbsup2 I don't like drops much at all, but that one wasn't that bad. Tomorrow we are off to Magic Kingdom. How does the drop on Splash Mountain compare to the one on EE? Just trying to decide if I can handle it or not. Thanks!

No, the drop is not as bad. It is short and quick too! A great ride and you will love it since it sounded like you liked EE. They only have a lap bar to restrain you on SM, so it can't be that bad : ).

Dare I ask how big the drop is on EE? I haven't been to AK since it was built.

From what I just saw online, SM is a 52 foot drop and EE is an 80 foot drop.

It didn't seem that big, I think because it banks. Splash Mountain is straight down, which is what concerns me. I guess I will try it.

I don't know how long the drop on Splash Mountain is, but I agree, you will be fine on it after riding EE!

Splash Mountain has a cute story as you go through the ride- and some very scenic views from the top! Make sure you pay attention, I always thought it had great views of the park/castle! It is one of my fave MK rides and I never miss riding it!

Everest is much more intense than Splash Mountain.

Let me tell you, I am a super big chicken (I DO NOT like the drop feeling at all)!! It took me years to work up the courage to ride Splash and EE, and probably would not have ever ridden either if it wasnt for my family hassling me!! I really didnt feel like the super drop feeling on EE (maybe because its not a straight drop) although the backwards part made me feel kind of weird! I did get that major drop sensation on Splash.... I have and will ride it again even though I get super sweaty palms in line!! Its over super quick, I had read somewhere that if you put your chin to your chest or cough it helps with that terrible drop feeling, my DH and kids think I am completely nuts!!

I'm really not a fan of big drops and I can't open my eyes on the EE one. The SM drop is much less scary, IMO.

Haven't been on EE yet, but SM is great. It's not a huge drop, but the view from the top is AMAZING. Try and hit it up around sunset also- beautiful!

I was nervous before riding both EE and SM, but I ended up loving them both, and they are now two of my favorite rides! Don't worry about SM, it's great, and especially after the EE drop you can totally handle it! Have fun! :thumbsup2

SM doesnt even feel like it has a drop... Its not near as fast as EE. This will possibly end up being your new favorite ride! Have you ever ridden Rockin Rollercoaster? No drop on it at all but major drop feeling upon take off.:thumbsup2

I can't do the high g-force associated with RnRC. I had brain surgery 9 years ago, so ones like that and Mission Space Orange are out unfortunately. I do Revenge of the Mummy, but I hear that is a baby launch next to RnRC.

I guess I'm in the minority... but to me the Splash drop feels more intense than EE. With that being said, it's fast and over quick and the rest of the ride is super cute and fun. Don't let the drop stop you. ;)
