is it easy to use a chicken exit at Splash Mountain? My husband wants to ride but I don't. I don't mind using a FP on it.

Having had a small child who begged to ride Splash Mountain on a rainy day when it had no line, who then chickened out and threw a crying fit NOT to get into the log when we actually got to the log- I can verify that it is very simple- you step into the log and get out on the other side. It is not quite as simple when you have a child who does not want to walk or be carried through the log because she thinks you are trying to trick her onto the ride though.

Why waste one of your FP+ on it though. Why don't you just book something different and ride it while your DH rides Splash?

When I did a VIP tour I decided not to ride when we got there I went to my left walked up some steps and over where the longs were and down the other side. I never went thought the logs.

Yes.
That is the correct answer.

The exit stile is a bit before the actual loading area.

Using any alternative exit at Disney World is very easy. Once you get to the seater person, you just say "one to ride, one to exit" and they will take care of you.

Thanks, everyone. :) My stomach doesn't handle big drops. But when we did this on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the CM was a little cranky with me, and told me I had to walk back against the line the whole way, which was awkward. I was hoping not to repeat that.

I could ride something else with a FP while he does SM, but I think everyone I want to do he wants to do, and this is the only one he wants that I don't. We've got 3 days at MK on our next trip, so plenty of fastpasses -- if we waste one of mine so he can ride what he wants, I don't mind.

If he really likes the ride why nit give him your band ( they dont care) and let him ride twice. Only thing isnthe ride itself is long. So i'd est. 30 minutes for both. Maybe you can plan things out that you shop or take a coffee break. Or hang out at Peco Bills to cool off

Have you tried Splash Mountain? Yes, that last drop is pretty big, but overall the ride is a ton of fun. My wife doesn't like drops either, but SM is one of her favorite rides in all of WDW. She just closes her eyes for the final drop, and I give her rabbit ears or something else silly for the photo being snapped as you drop.

Not happening. It's not because of fear. Seriously, I get, um, how shall we say this, vomitous when there are big drops. Knowing that, it's foolish of me to go on something I know will make me ill. And unkind to fellow passengers.

All those spinny rides that everyone else gets sick on though? Love 'em. :)

Not sure about the "Chicken Exit" (I've never chickened out)... however, when my kids want to go for a second round and I do not... I wait for them in the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co., which is the gift shop guests automatically enter into upon exiting Space Mountain.

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. has a few benches and 3 massage chairs (you don't have to pay to sit on them) AND there are electrical outlets to charge your phone!!! ;)

It's a cool and comfortable place to wait for your family if you choose to "chicken out." :)

Oooohhhh, I like the idea of massage chairs! But I was asking about Splash Mountain, not Space, so maybe a different spot you're talking about? I am going to check it out regardless.

OH MY BADDDDD! Sorry! Make sure you have cash, the massage chairs do not take credit cards. :)

I have definitely chickened out of Splash Mountain more than once!!!

Oh, that is unfortunate. Even without the drop it's a good ride.

I agree with the poster who suggested letting him use your Magic Band. Have a beverage or a snack or people watch from a bench.

You could always ride something with him without FP+ at some point in the day before Splash, and then you could get a FP+ to ride it again while he does Splash. That way he wouldn't feel like you are going off and riding something without him that he has not ridden yet on this trip. OR-- if he really likes Splash- then you could use your FP+ for Splash, but instead of going through the line with him, after he had ridden it once, you could give him your Magic Band and he could use your FP+ to ride it again.

Creative ideas! :)

He really just wants to ride it once, because he never has. I mentioned him using my MB to ride it a second time and he said he wasn't interested -- but that was some smart thinking. Maybe he'll change his mind, when the time comes.

I'm happy to hang out in the line with him (there's good people watching in lines, and then I can share the snark with him!) and then just wait a little bit while he rides. I just didn't want it to be difficult to escape. No lie, when I did this at BTMR the CM acted like it was a huge deal, was kind of scathing, and sent me back against the flow of traffic down the line. At the bottom when I told the CMs there why I was coming back they said he shouldn't have done that (should have sent me down a "chicken exit"), but I didn't know any better that time. Forewarned is forearmed!

That photo is hysterical!! I've done all kinds of funny faces, never thought about doing that...very creative.

I do understand the chicken out thing. My kids so badly want my wife to ride RnR, but no way in heck she'll get on it. So this time she's just going to come inside and use the chicken out exit right before you get on the ride. That way she can at least see the ride.

I hate the drop on Splash but will still ride it because I like the rest of the ride. I end up making the most ridiculous faces for the pictures out of fear! Can I just say how happy I am that I wasn't on the ride with the woman in the picture above? That picture went crazy viral and I would have died if my "horror face" was all over the internet!

But to the OP, I don't blame you for wanting to walk through the line with your hubby, it's a fun queue and you can just jump out and wait for him to ride. Have a fun trip!!
