We had to change plans for our welcome party. We are now thinking about the 'Spirit of Aloha' at Poly. I don't know anything about the show, but thought it might be an entertaining option. Does anyone have any information you could share? Did anyone do this for their welcome party? Are Lilo and Stitch part of the luau? Also, I am curious how this would work with a larger group (25 people). I would love to see photos!

Thank you!!
:)

Lilo & Stitch are not part of the show but I think it's a good idea for a welcome party. It's one charge - all you can eat - including beer & wine (and soda's). The show is fun (I used to work there). It's got some cute factor to it but then it turns into a traditional luau. They recently tweaked the show but I haven't been there since but I know it hasn't changed much from when I was there.

anyway, don't know what time of year your wedding is, but I would suggest if you do this, to do the later show. 8 pm seating. It's a lot nicer with the lighting and with the fire/knife dance when its dark. It takes away from the effect of the show when you still have daylight out. That's just my opinion.

Great idea though. I wish I had thought of that for our wedding - then again, I've seen the show way too many times!

Oh, and I think it would work with 25 people. The food is served family style and they are long tables. As long as you're near each other it's cool. I like the fact that it's all you can eat and that your drinks are taken care of (mostly with beer & wine included in the price).

Category 2 offers tables in the lower level that are located on either the left or right side of the stage OR upper level tables that are located directly behind the Category 1 seating. Thank you all so much for this information!! I just got really excited about booking this after reading your posts and seeing the pics!! :goodvibes I was bummed we had to change our previous DP plans due to the Fantasmic show time being moved up, which also caused us to cancel our Rainforest party. All this time it was in my head that is what we were doing and now a month before, everything is toally different. But, I do think this show will be really great and now I'm just as excited for this party instead!!

Thanks again for all of your help!!!!! Jodi

We did this 2 years ago and it was so much fun! I have to say I wasn't a fan of the food, but that was just me--the show was still great and I would def. go again.

DF, DS and I love the show and have done it twice so far!

Just to let you know though, you might have a problem with is if you are handing out gifts and want to make any speeches, there really isn't any time for it because once you are seated the food starts and the show almost right after the food and then at the end of the show you have to leave right away so they can prepare for the next show. So, you would have to do it before you go in or after everything is done and have left the pavillion. Just an FYI!
