Originally, I had heard alot of good things about Spirit Air. Lately, though, not so the case! Please convince me that we made the right decision to fly Spirit out of Atlantic City..... :confused3

I can't speak for myself, but my best friend just got back from a AC-FL flight on Spirit and she had no complaints. She liked the small size of the AC airport and the cheap parking. I will ask her specifically about Spirit and let you know.

I just answered your other post about Atlantic City Airport.

The few times we have flown out of AC it has been on Spirit. Twice to Orlando and once to California. We have no complaints at all with the airline. No frills flights but definately worth the money.

I used to travel Spirit from Orlando to Newark and back on a regular basis until they discontinued service after 9/11. Never really had a problem, I just seem to recall their planes being a little older, although that never seemed to make a difference.

....like, HOW MUCH older???!?!?! :guilty: As it is, my DH doesn't want to fly on a smaller plane...oh, no! (can't complain about price, tho' - $68 one way and $139 the other!

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. It was just that they were not brand spanking new. I doubt that they are any older then most airlines planes. They are not bi-planes {" welcome to Belken airlines, now I will show you some of the trick flying that made me a WW1 ace pilot"] {The odd couple} :teeth: :earboy2: Oh, and they are not what I would consider "small" airplanes, although they are not those Virgin airline jumbo jets.

I fly Spirit out of AC to MCO at least 5x a year and have never had a problem. I actually love that flight. Always on time and never a hassle. The planes are nice & service is great.

My dd and I just flew Spirit from A.C. to Tampa and back. I like the A.C. airport because it is smaller and easier to go through the process of checking in and security. I'm not crazy about the seats on the planes as they hurt my lower back. We were about 1/2 hour late departing on the first flight, no obvious reason but not a big deal. The return flight was quite late (more than 2 hours) and no explanation was offered. We are flying with Spirit again in June (I hope we get an Airbus for that trip!). I just wish I could get comfortable in those seats. Oh, and don't look for a little bag of pretzels or anything. They have snack packages that you can purchase though.

Side note: You should have seen the cute little old man who helped my dd and I... he was pulling a tinkerbell suitcase through the airport for us! :cutie:

We flew Spirit out of AC in August last year. NO problems at all. (And we left early on the day Hurrican Charley hit Orlando).

Don't worry, have a great time!

We flew with Spirit, for the first time last November, and had no complaints. We really liked flying out of Atlantic City...so much nicer than Philly. We will be flying Spirit in December, again. It takes us a little longer to get to AC, than Philly, but it's worth the extra 15 minutes. The last time we flew out of Philly, it took 1 1/2 hours for us to get our luggage. We were home and in bed by then last November!

We also like the option to head the other way, and try our luck in the casinos, which are only 10 minutes away!

We have flown Spirit out of Detroit to Orlando like 6 or 7 times now.

Never a problem, not one. Never late, no luggage lost, nothing. Never a a rude empolyee or problem.

I like them. There is only 2 non stop choices to Orlando from Detroit, Northwest and Spirit. All things being equal I would choose Spirit. (We have flown NW a few times too along with Southwest and America West.)

BIL and SIL and FIL fly it all the time too, no problems.

I would rather fly Spirt over Southwest any day.

I just answered your other post...I love flying Spirit from ACY to MCO...or RSW, I have had nothing but good experiences and would recomend Spirit and ACY to anyone!

Like DisneyPhD, I've also flown Spirit from Detroit to Orlando a couple times. Service has been excellent and on time. I won't hesitate to fly with them again when I can get a good price. :)

...our flight leaves out of AC at 7:30 PM, we decided to head there a few hours earlier and try our luck at the "tables" (MY fave being the roulette wheel!). Our return flight arrives at 10:15 AM (not too thrilled about THIS flight back!), where the antique auto show is taking place. So, we will be meeting our oldest DS [and his friend] at the convention center to go to that...

...cancellation policy?? My MIL had MAJOR surgery this AM, and, depending how she 'comes out', my DH may not want to go to WDW in 12 days! I was wondering if anyone experienced a medical emergency and had to reschedule???

We fly Spirit out of AC frequently. I really love the convenience. I definitely prefer AC to Philly.I have really seen very little difference between Spirit and other major airlines on domestic flights. There is a difference when comparing all the airlines on domestic and international flights but that doesn't really apply here.
There is a change fee but sometimes they will wave it due to family medical emergencies. Either way they will give you a voucher for a future(within one year) flight. If there is a problem with going I would call the airline and explain the problem, you may need some type of verification such as a physician's note if your MIL is still hospitalized.

Hope all goes well.

I've used Spirit in the past out of AC, and will use it again in Oct. Great flight, convenient location (25mins. away), cheap parking, cheap flight, and no hassling with Philly, thank God.
