Spinoff: What was your prom dress like?

Black, strapless and fitted. Oh to have my 17 year old body again.

I love my prom dress more now than I did then. 1990, strapless black mermaid cut. It was black lace from the satin band at the top down to the tulle mermaid bottom. It was knee length in front down to floor length in back. It was my first ever form fitting anything, and I had a warped sense of my body shape- so though I look back now and think it looks great, back then I was sure I looked like a ten pound sausage in a five pound wrapper.

So proms are still a relatively new think in the UK. This was from 2009 and was my 5th year prom dress, my friends and I all decided to go for big puffy dresses. Not really any of the other girls did. For my 6th year, and final year of school I had a short one. I rented mine for £100 rather than buying it, my friends bought similar ones and they were in the £100s of £s.
