Community college, private college, university, tech school or whatever? ( I know I could've done a poll!! :teeth: )

I went to a private college which about fifteen years after I graduated became a "university".

Oldest DS went to a private college
Middle DS went to a university
Youngest DS went to the Air Force

DH went straight to work and held a good job as foreman for years and years.

Dh and I both went to 4 year public university's. DD went to a 4 year public university but not on the main campus-- she wanted a smaller school. She is now getting her masters at a different public university.

The local Community college for my radiography AS, then the local state college for my BA and teaching credential when I changed careers.

It never even occurred to me to apply to bigger colleges or even to leave my hometown. My parents both wanted me to live at home during college and I didn’t have any means to support myself without them, and no clue about scholarships.

Large public state university for Bachelor's Degree.

Almost 30 years later a Master's at a medium sized private university, mostly paid for by my employer.

All of the above. I started out at a private Jesuit university straight out of high school but it was a terrible fit and I only lasted a year. From there, I went to trade school for an associates in a technical field. Then after a long absence from the workforce, I went back to community college and then transferred to a public university to finish my bachelors. Now I'm trying to decide between two options for grad school, one a large-ish public university, the other a tiny graduate-only Catholic university.

My oldest is at community college in a trade skills program.
My middle child is looking almost exclusively at private, mostly Jesuit universities.
My youngest is too young to have given any thought to college.

Me: Local community college for A.S. then transferred to local State for B.A. in criminal justice. This field changed post 9/11.
DH: 1 year local State.
DS 14: Can't stand school, loves computers. Wants to work as soon as possible. Leaning towards a tech school.
DD 12: Straight A student. Wants Ivy League, Stanford, or MIT.

Told both kids go either medical, tech, marketing, or food.

I am currently in the midst of my higher education journey. I have been a student at the local community college for 2 1/2 years. However, since I changed majors last year I won't be leaving with a degree. :headache: BUT, I was accepted to the local nursing program for my ADN and I start in the fall! :cheer2: I won't be stopping with that though, if all goes to plan I will continue on to earn at least a bachelor's.

State school for undergrad, state school for graduate
DH state school for undergrad, private school for MBA
Dd21 state school for undergrad, state school for graduate
Ds19 State school for undergrad

Dd17 will most likely go to private undergrad (just toured Villanova and it’s her top pick now). She is definitely going out of state, so private might be less expensive that public if she gets enough merit $.
Who knows about ds15 and dd15, definitely four year college.

DH and I both have our college degree's from our State University.

Oldest DD at same State University one more year to go.

Middle DD at another State University two more years to go.

DS still in high school but will probably go to the same State U as everyone else but Middle DD.
