I decided to add a last-minute HBD ressie for the SOLE purpose of guaranteeing a F! seat without a ridiculous wait (I have a 4yo and a 2yo). Here's the thing:
I'm tight on my fp times because we're only there in the afternoon/evening. How fast can I dine at HBD? An hour? 1.5 hours? I read 3 hours somewhere. This is 2:30pm so not a super busy time.
As an aside, I've read that F! Is scary. My 2yo is pretty fearless, but my 4yo wailed through whole great movie ride in feb this year...is F! A stupid idea?
Tia for any thoughts.

You could tell the servers that you want to speed it up. One of the hallmarks of a signature restaurant is supposed to be a more leisurely dining pace. They may expect that is what you want, unless you tell them otherwise.

If your child is afraid of fire, then sit toward the back of the auditorium. That's all I can suggest. It's open air, not enclosed like the movie ride, so darkness may or may not be a factor. A little distance from the stage may be a good thing.

To add:

A coworker suggested showing my dd a YouTube of F! Several times so she knows what to expect and talk through the scary parts in advance. Genius!!! Did that last night and it helped a lot. Over course that wasn't a 50ft high dragon but hey, at least it helped prep her.
