I thought the same as you at the time but after getting home and thinking more about it it might be to keep the characters from getting wet. At least I hope that's the reason but you never know with Disney.

It might just be that the PP are told to ask you to do that so your pictures won't have your ponchos on, and then you are disappointed with your pictures. Once the PP takes them, they are probably looked over by management and those PP may get talked too if they continually take pictures with people in ponchos when it would look better if they took them off. If it convinces you to keep or buy the picture than Disney has done its job.

That's a very good point, but the strange part was that there wasn't a PP photographer there! We had to use our cameras.

My morning pictures and story is very similar to the rest of the ladies, after leaving COP the ladies were waiting on me as I was on an obsessed mission to take pictures of, find items to purchase, and just get my hands on anything having to do with this guy:

Jack had taken an obsession to this guy after watching Lilo and Stitch, Stitch has a glitch, and the cartoons. All he asked from me was to bring him home a red stitch and yellow experiment, to which I had answered sure honey no problem, I'm going to the place where I can make that happen, right?????

Hoping to find the perfect gift in the gift shop in tomorrowland, but all I ended up with was a bunch of cool pictures:

We encountered a cast member that was very nice and made me some copies of the experiment chart, I think Kathy took a picture of me with him.

So that is what I was doing while the ladies were waiting to take some group pictures

I actually just mailed the copies to you (finally). I ended up with them because they went with Tracy's package from the gift shop (that she didn't pick up until Sunday) and I thought I'd see you at the airport.

Ahem, well yes, I did disappear for a bit there didn't I? But first, let's back up to what the rest of us were doing while #2 and #5 were running for the fast passes.

I like the Carousel of Progress, it's fun searching for all the little details. I usually find something new I hadn't noticed before. It's also great for taking a load off and munching on a granola bar

A few random facts according to Wikipedia.... Walt Disney wanted the Carousel of Progress to never cease operation and the last update it had was in 1994. I'd love to see what they do in the next update!

In January 2010, the TV in the last scene was replaced with a flat panel.

Hidden Mickey!!!


Heading out of COP, I wanted to take a quick moment to search for gifts for my kids. My thought was if I looked for something in each of the respective 'lands' we went to, I would be able to pick up what I ultimately chose for each of them at a later point in the trip. I wandered with Jessica and Kathy for a bit searching for Stitch things, but there was no luck to be had until the CM found those great pictures and left to arrange for the copies.


I wasn't expecting to find gifts for all three of my kids right away, but I'd found a great Toy Story themed car set for Demetri and a Steamboat Mickey Pookalooz for Alex and made the arrangements to have it shipped back to the Villa. I'd spent enough to get the Castle Lights fleece blanket deal, so that went too. That went smoothly enough and I told Kathy and Jessica I'd meet them over at Pooh.


I made a last minute diversion into another gift shop on the way though and found a wonderful Princess and the Frog figure set for Ariana and decals for my car. That plus I think a few other small items and I again made the arrangements to have them shipped back to the Villa. This time didn't go as smoothly though and the poor CM had to put my items through three times before it 'took'.

I think Amy called me twice during this looooong process wondering where the heck I'd gotten too. I was tempted to walk away but she finally got it set up to go to the Villa and I ran all the way back to Fantasyland to be introduced to the Photopass gentleman who we would spend the next half hour with. Did we get his name??

He immediately arranged us around the new Pooh entrance and we had fun with it!

Then he says, "Come with me!" and we start walking farther into Fantasyland.

Hmmm, just where exactly were we headed to?

When we were waiting for the rest of the gang to show up at Pooh we were talking about him and referring to him by what we thought was his name. Didn't you think it was something having to do with "vacation"?? Anyways, we were way off base but I don't remember what it was??

Thanks Heidi, I was going to send a sase this week after things slowed down, didn't expect to come home with a sick kid Jack will be so excited when it arrives, since we didn't get any pictures of him with Stitch

I was actually looking for him as I thought he would do a great job with the 10 of us and be understanding about my less than picture happy children. But never found him. He sure was a lot of fun, and exactly what I would expect from a Disney photopass photographer

Ooh Love the Carousel of Progress pictures. Can't wait to show them to Alex. Its his favorite ride in all of Walt Disney World! He loves the song and sang it over and over again until I bought him the CD with it on it.. now he lets it play over and over!

Jessica, I DID get a picture of us with that awesome CM... but only one. (Sorry your eyes were closed.) He truly went "above and beyond" trying to find the special experiment figure that Jack was hoping for. He really seemed to understand and I thought it was so sweet that he took the time to make color copies of the experiment chart for a little boy he had never met.

You'll have to let us know how Jack responded to the chart!
