Spectromagic vs. Christmas Parade?

We will be at Disney the week after thanksgiving and are attending the Christmas Party on the 30th. I just realized we won't be able to attend spectromagic on the last night of our trip (our tradition), because that night is another Christmas Party.

So my question is: how does spectromagic compare to the christmas parade? Is it worth it to spend another of our hopper nights at MK just to catch spectromagic? Does the Christmas parade have lights? My kids range in age from 1-7, so they won't put up with a LOT of sitting and waiting. What do you think?

The Christmas parade is designed as a Day parade, so it won't have the lights like Spectro Magic does. It is run during the Very Merry party with extra lighting on the roof tops so you can see it vs lights off as Spectro is presented.

Personally I wouldn't make an extra trip for Spectro since you have already seen it (those nights will be crazy since Spectro is not being run every night). Spectro is my favorite parade so don't get me wrong, but if you have seen it and you are not the type that likes waiting around in crowds, I wouldn't go.

The Christmas Parade is a lot of fun, it is fairly long (longer than most Disney parades). There are a lot of fun parade units...especially the Toy Soldiers. Have a great time :)

Liberty Belle...may I ask...does the "Christmas parade" replace the "Share a Dream Come True" parade during the end of Nov. and the month of December?

Nope, the Christmas parade replaces Share a Dream come True the week of Christmas, after all the MVMCP events are over with so probably the 18th.

Is there any way to find out if they will definitely start the Christmas Parade on the 18th? I'm not sure I want to spend money to go to MVMCP this year since we've done it twice and we'll be there several days. The only reason I'd definitely want to go is for the parade.

Oh bummer Liberty Belle....I was hoping I'd see the parade, but we will be heading home on the 13th! :(

Tink, Click the Park Hours button at the top of this page for time of the parades. It even tell you when the Christmas Parade starts. I believe it is the 19th.

Ckoncurat, RE: Spectromagic. If you have not seen Spectromagic before I would highly recommend it. I have seen it before but we are still going to head over to the MK on Dec. 18 so we can see it again.

Do you know where this was posted? I have been checking Disney's site and they are showing Share a dream come true parade everyday including Christmas day. We will be seeing the parade at MVMCP on 12/17 but I also would like to see it during the day and am hoping that it will be available during the day before the 22nd when we leave.

Thanks.

Serenity: I was wrong about the date it starts. Sorry about that. It actually starts on Dec. 21 and is held at 3pm everyday until Dec. 31 (although for some reason it is not listed on Dec. 27). If you look at the times for the Share a Dream Come True parade you will see MVMC (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade) beside the times. That is were I found it.

Suzanne003 - Thanks. I found the times on this site. Thanks also DebbieB. I used your link and looked at those times as well. That link has the parade at 2 pm everyday starting from the 18th, while the Dis site has it at 3 pm starting from the 21st?????? Wonder which one it will be. Either way it looks like it will be seen during the day while we are there. I know I will get to see it at MVMCP on 12/17, but I really did want to be able to see it during the day as well.

Thanks again.

Thank you all. I guess I'm going to have to make my dh buy tickets to the Christmas Party just to make sure we get to see it! :teeth:

The CM web page as well as Disney.com don't have the Christmsas Parade listed yet (for the daytime). But keep checking, it usually starts the day after the last MVMCP so it should be around the 18th. It is usually at 2pm because it is longer than the normal day parade...however last year on certain days they ran it at 1pm AND 4pm to try and cut the crowds a little bit.
