I am taking my DS(6) to WDW 12/10 - 12/14. This is just a "mommy and me" trip, so I am a little anxious about being the "sole" parent. I am an early morning tour'er (is that even a word :confused3 ), will always take a mid-afternoon break and am not interested in staying out late every night. (Fantasmic and Illuminations are a must) My question: Should I attend MK Saturday night for the SpectroMagic/Wishes combo (staying as late as possible) or attend the MVMCP Tuesday (staying as late as possible). MVMCP will cost me, but Saturday is our arrival night and I'm concerned a super late night right off the bat could be detrimental. :earboy2:

Any thoughts?

Do both! I can't think of a more fun way to kick off your trip than Specto and Wishes. Since it's the beginning of your trip, there is no harm in sleeping in a little bit. Just because you are an early riser doesn't mean that you have to do so. You *are on vacation! I personally wouldn't miss Spectro/Wishes. MVMCP is awesome too. It snows on Main Street, The parade is special, you'll find hot cocoa and cookies served in the park and so on. You will also be able to do so much more than in a typical day because the number of guests are limited. I wouldn't miss it so, I would do both and just plan on sleeping in just a little bit!!!

The Wishes during MVMCP you should definitely do. It was the best fireworks show I have ever seen. We were there Sunday night. Spectromagic and the "regular" Wishes are great, too. Spectromagic is a super way to end your first day.

I just love wishes and spectro. The parade and fireworks are some of my best memories as a child. I think it is a great way to begin your vacation. You could also play it by ear and see how you both feel.

Not sure that you know this or not but the MVMCP finishes at midnight, And I know you said your an early morning tour'er. (not sure about the word either) The parades and wishes may be close in time however, not sure without checking you dates.

Parade and Wishes for MVMCP are 8:15 and 9:15 respectively. You could watch them both and be out by 10:00.
