Hello,

I was reviewing the ride comparison list that has been so wonderfully created and shared on these boards and I have two specific questions I'm hoping some DL veterans can help with.

Is the Matterhorn as "rough" as Space Mountian, in the sense that it kind of whips you around?
Is Gardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout as rought as Tower of Terror? I didn't mind the "downs" on ToT as much as the force in which it threw you up.

Thanks for your help!

Guardians in CA is more bouncy than ToT (in a fun way).
The difference between Space and Matterhorn is that you can’t see the track in Space, so even though the drops aren’t that large you don’t have the ability to brace yourself well. You can see where you are going in CA but it’s a very old coaster and not smooth at all.

Speaking as the list writer and someone who loves to compare and contrast the rides, I can answer those questions.

Matterhorn is probably "rougher" than Space Mountain. While the technology is the same, the tracks aren't identical. Matterhorn seems to have rough spots where the track meets and you "drop" with a hard thud. SM had a track replacement like fifteen years ago, which I think is more recently than Matterhorn. Also note that Matterhorn uses cloth seat belts and not the T-bar of the SM shuttles, so, to me, there is less to hold on to.

Guardians and Tower are pretty similar, though I think GOTG gives you a longer ride profile. It seems "bouncier" in that it seems to go up and down more in smaller jumps, though I think there is always still one full drop. It really just could be the different "vibe" that makes it seem that way.

Guardians: Mission Breakout is generally viewed as more intense than ToT. There are more drops on Guardians (so it is a longer ride), and I believe the elevator is faster as well, so it is more intense. I love Guardians, and felt kind of underwhelmed by ToT when I rode it for the first time earlier this year. I say that because, as someone who is more used to ToT, the difference in intensity might be even more noticeable for you.

I'm assuming you're talking about Space Mountain at WDW - I feel like Space at WDW was a little rougher than Matterhorn. You definitely get jerked around on Matterhorn, but I felt like Space at WDW was more painful.

I bet that explains why I felt Space was more painful vs Matterhorn. We're regulars at DL but went to WDW for the first time this year, and I felt like Space was worse then Matterhorn, but I think it's probably because it was darker for the entirety of the ride (or, I'm just used to the pain of Matterhorn by now lol).
