Hi all,

My girlfriend and I are returning back to Orlando and Disney from the Uk in June for the first time in a few years and are looking to do some things that are maybe not as well known to everyone. Last time we were there we rushed to get everything done but this time we want to experience some new and special things. Can anyone recommend something that will take our magical trip to the next level? Thanks!!

So many things I don't think we can get them all. All Ears has an article for UK travelers that might help. http://allears.net/pl/uktravelers.htm
I often tell people to take a day and really explore your resort or the other resorts. There is so much to offer at each resort and use the front desk. Ask what is offered to guests at their resorts. You don't need to be a guest of that particular resort to partake of many of their activities.

The Boardwalk area is a hidden gem. We didn't stay at any Boardwalk area resorts on our first few visits and were thrilled to discover it when we finally did. You do not have to stay at one of the Boardwalk resorts in order to enjoy it - it is accessible via the World Showcase/International Gateway entrance of Epcot. You do need to be a guest of each individual resort in order to use the pools but anyone can enjoy the beach areas, restaurants/bars, boat rides (for a fee, unless it's the Friendship boats operated by Disney). The walk around the lake is very pleasant and there are magicians and "acrobatic entertainers," for lack of a better term, in the evenings.

You can check out the Disney resorts online, under the recreation tab to see what the resorts have to offer. There's plenty to do, depending on what your interests is. We're from the UK as well, and we want to try some new things as well. We're going to the Campsites at the Fort Wilderness Resort to do horseback riding, archery and either rent a canoe or kayak. You can do a carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside, walk from Epcot to Hollywood Studios (the Boardwalk as mentioned above is on the way). Disney does a lot of fantastic tours, we've done the Key's to the Kingdom, the Aqua tour and Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot which are all amazing. You can go to the AKL to view the animals at the Savannah and I think they do some tours as well and night time viewing. You can dine with an animal specialist at or an imagineer or you can go wakeboarding (not at Disney, but not far away).

If you can afford it, do the Wild animal trek at Animal Kingdom park. It's pricey but we felt it was worth it. Amazing tour behind the scenes of the African Safari with close ups and even a freaky long suspended broken board bridge walk. So if you have a fear of heights, it might be a challenge, LOL!

First, :welcome: to DisBoards!

I would also suggest looking into one of the behind the scenes tours. Hisgirl's suggestion of the Wild Africa Trek tour is a good one. DW and I enjoyed the Caring for Giants tour. Or perhaps one of the Magic Kingdom tours.

I will also second the idea of touring a few of the resorts. Epcotobsessed suggests the Boardwalk. We have stayed there and agree it is a nice area to wander around. I also suggest taking some time to explore the monorail resorts.
Wishing you a pixiedust: visit!
