Hi,

We are staying in a STANDARD STUDIO at the BWVillas. I have an autistic daughter who can not/will not ride in an elevator! I need to request a room on the same level as the lobby and bus stop. Since we put her in her stroller for long hauls, I need to be able to exit our hotel room door and get to the bus stop/ lobby w/o any stairs or elevators.

Which floor should I request for this? I understand it might be the 2nd floor - is this correct?

If so, are we able to exit our room and get to the boardwalk area w/o stairs or elevators as well?

THanks!

Lee Anne

Second floor is the floor that will get you to the lobby and to the bus stops. The boardwalk area is on the 1st floor accessible from the elevators or stairs. I do believe that you can get to it from the lobby area if you walk ALL THE WAY AROUND the hotel. You would have to go to the front exit stay on the sidewalk on the right (DVC Side) then make a right going towards the rooms and then another right at the walkway to MGM and EPCOT go towards Epcot and then turn right anywhere around LUNA pool and go the walkway that goes to the boardwalk. If anyone knows of a different easier way please help out with this.

no go for the 1st floor - near the car parking - there is a door there that she can go in and out of - very close to the bus stop - this is also the closest section to the Studios - but a little farther from the boats and Epcot. send a fax to the room controller explaining what you need and why. then when you check in explain it again to the front desk - have the bell service take you to the other door. Get them to not take the elevator. Make sure that your request says medical reasons - so they can't give away your room to someone else.

This is the floor (first) with acess to both the BW and the bus stop - as well as the boat ride. this is also where all the handicapped rooms are located - if you need that.

you can get a wheelchair from the front desk for free - if this will help at all. put it on your fax request.

I agree with first floor. You can use the exit near the pond to go to the bus stop and parking lot. The boardwalk exit door is on the other end of the hall. If you would have to go to the lobby, go out the first floor door and up the driveway to the lobby entrance (it is a slight incline). A second floor room would give you access to the lobby, bus stop & parking lot but it would be a long way around to get to the boardwalk and boat dock. I would put the request in for medical reasons, but I would also call the front desk 4 or 5 days before your arrival to make sure they have it & explain your situation.

Just another vote on 1st floor. It is much easier for bus access. We than would use the pool exit to get to the boat dock (also very easy).

Good luck
Sandy

Oh I do agree that the 1st floor is where she should be I was just telling her that the lobby is on the 2nd floor and how she would have to get to the boardwalk from there.
