Special Birthday gift ???

We are going to Disney in three weeks to celebrate my daughter's 9th birthday. I would like to have a gift basket of some sort delivered to our room and was wondering if you all had any recommendations. I was also wondering if anyone had any special tips about celebrating a child's birthday at WDW. (We celebrated my dad's last month at WDW and it was great!)

I've used GOAL for a scavenger hunt last month, so it isn't in the budget for this trip. I see Disney Florist has some baskets. Anything else out there?

The last trip we made, we had concierge have two pal mickey's waiting on the girl's beds. They loved it, and it was a total surprise. Since you are staying at the GF, perhaps you could enlist the staff there to help you keep little surprises like that going on in the room? Like, each day, there could be a new 'surprise' waiting for her on the bed? It's gonna be hard to top your GOAL,,lol. Am thinking of other things you could do tho, I know you already know about having a cake in the room, balloons, etc.

Could arrange a special carriage ride at FW, before, or after taking her to the HDD I know they make a real fuss over birthday kiddies there Might be better to have the carriage ride before the show, if it's chilly at night.

Thanks, Teris!! Those are some great ideas! We've never done a carriage ride or HDDR either!

I think I may purchase a few goodies in advance and have the GF leave them in the room. Great idea, thanks!!!

After all the trips we had made,, we only went to the HDD for the first time, about a year and a half ago. We thought we wouldn't enjoy it,, but it was a blast,,lol. If you go, be sure to have the birthday girl wear her 'it's my birthday' pin,, and request to sit on the downstairs floor. Since it's a slow time,, I would think they would make a real fuss over her

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to ask my dh about the HDDR as it sounds like so much fun.... I will also be sure to pick up a birthday hat down there as my daughter would love it.

Yes, we are going back! I sometimes think that we are a little crazy to go back so soon, but the flights were so cheap and we've got the AP's. It will be my dd's birthday gift to be there on her actual birthday! Of course, we will go down again for my younger dd's birthday too! All in all, we've got 4 trips planned this year. Yikes!!! My parents loved the December trip so much that my dad booked SOG for next December.

You all should come too!!!
