Good Evening All.
Wonderful evening here. Not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful sunset.
Full moon tonight.

Some of you know that I am a big fan of the USAToday newspaper.
And some of you may be confused about "parrotheads".
While reading the paper today, I was thumbing thru looking for a story on the Roller Derby. (Yes, DPD, I like Roller Derby too. Whatever happened to Joanie Weston). I found the following....
http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2008-06-17-parrotheads_N.htm and
http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2008-06-17-buffett-side_N.htm?csp=34
a couple of good articles explaining the parrothead nation.

And for a good video on tailgating before the Detroit concert...

Man...a four year old is a full fledged parrothead...and here I am 39 and still a parakeet   I mean...I know ALL the words to Fins and have done it public...with a whale tail (close enough to a shark fin) on my head...I doubt Reilly can say she's done that....life is so unfair sometimes..

You just now figured that out? I agree.
But it is cool to see the little ones at the concert dancing and trying to remember the words.

Cool, I have had the fe gifts since we originally booked the cruise, as well as many other surprises..now, I just have to rebook!

There's still time. Just don't be waiting for that Florida discount.:rotfl2:

So I finalized and paid in full last night - yeehaw! (I know, don't everyone get excited at once). Tonight I booked for our stay at WDW after the cruise, which somehow snowballed from just one night to 3 - gotta love the lure of free food.

So I keep going back to page 1 and every link seems to take me to another link and I am completely lost in this massive thread. How many 100s of DISers will be on this ship? Do we have lots of folks with toddlers - I've got a 4 year old that I will have trouble prying out of the OC. Are there any single type parents that might want to hang out? I'm not single - fully married :lmao: but will not have dh with me so I'd love to hang with some girls. I'll have my mom there but doubt she'll make it as long as I generally do each night. :woohoo:

I will be traveling alone with my DS 11 so I am up for girlie time as well!

Does anyone know when the ship leaves on Nassau Day? Disney told me 5:00 pm, however on-line it states 7:00 pm. I've reserved the Dolphin Encounter and it states that it is from 9:30 am to 1:45 pm. I wondered if we would be able to come back to the ship prior to 1:45 pm in order to do something else or do we come back as a group? Disney gives me different answers everytime I call so Idon't really know. I wanted to do the Atlantis Dig at 1:15 pm but not sure if we would be back or not and she said if I do that to make sure that I'm back at the ship by 4:00 pm because the ship leaves at 5:00 pm. Does anyone know? Also, I didn;t get Palo ressies in time so I was wondering if it was possible to go there and just have a drink and maybe a desert at the bar and not have dinner. When I called, one person said "Oh yea, that possible and that's what I did", and when I asked again about 30 minutes later I was told that it was a 5 star dining restaurant and you could not do that. I'm not so much for having dinner there but I'd love to just have a drink and get some pictures. I'm finding it hard to make my plans with so many different answers so I figured I'd come to the experts!!! Thanks.

Hi all, I am booked on the 9/1/08 cruise and can't wait to set sail. I made my final payment today! Yeah! Anywho, I am interested in being added to the list for this cruise if I can be. I love the FE idea and I didnt see any on my last cruise which was about 4 yrs ago. It sounds like a lot of fun! I will be traveling with my DH and another couple. We're staying in cabin 7510, Donna and Sean, late seating for dinner. Any advice on participating in the FE? Is there a min #, and if I have read things correctly it looks like we get a list with cabin# so we know who drop off a surprise to? Are we all meeting on the ship etc.. Sorry for all these questions, but the FE is new to me! THanks!

I don't know what to tell you about the time we leave Nassau, because that can change up until that day. Sounds like going to the dig will be difficult at best. With the Disney excursions, they will bring you back as a group, pretty close to the listed end time.

As for Palo, you certainly can go there for a drink, I've done that many times. Dessert is questionable. It's really going to depend on who is there staff wise and guest wise if they will do this. Some have said yes, but others have said no and this was on the ship. I have learned that what the ship says is generally more accurate than what the office says if there is a discrepancy.

Hey Peter... glad to hear that. I knew she signed up quite some time ago, but haven't heard anything lately. Any news if there will be a Scrapbooking Session? I know she did a great one on the recent PC cruise.

Way behind from a long day at work yesterday:

So welcome aboard you new cruisere to this group.

Elaine a WHale tail and Phins don't really work, good try.

PETER AND KEN YOU GUYS ROCK....... Thanks to Ken for putting it together and a very special thanks to PETER for Picking up the ball and running with it.....

All I will say is they look really KEWL!!!!!!!

Just heard on the news that today is also National Martini Day!!! Let's all go out and celebrate :cool1: :cool1:

It just means I would shoot them/their family, and they would shoot mine, just in exchange for photos (be they prints/disc, etc-no money trades hands).
We do this on photography boards all the time, so I was hoping there might be another professional photographer on board because I'd love someone else to photograph my dd so I could maybe be in a few for a change!

That's a very cool idea. :thumbsup2
I'm no pro, but if you ever want to be in a photo, I'm sure there are plenty of us willing to take your picture with your camera. Just ask. Yes you do lose the spontaneity and the "in action shots".

Hey guys, just wanted to tell you that we had to cancel.
Hope you all have a wonderful cruise.
