Somehow "Pancake Tuesday" just doesn't convey the same thing as all that you think of w/Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras and Carnival. It seems to fall a little.....FLAT! (yes I said it!): :

Good Morning everyone! Yes, it is still windy. We have a high wind warning (gusting over 70mph) starting this afternoon and going until tomorrow afternoon. Weatherman said it will be windy thru Sunday! And the warmer weather he was forcasting yesterday just got cooler and later - so instead of 50's for Sat and Sun, we are now at 40 for Sat and 45 for Sun! Will winter ever be over? The main problem is that 2 weekends ago, it was over 50 degrees, a beautiful day, and we all got a taste of spring. Now that it is back to winter, we all want that spring day again!

Re: Pancake Tuesday-I just looked it up-goes to back to old English/Irish tradition when they had to use up all of the "Fats" like eggs milk and such before Lent, during which they would abstain from such items. So, they made pancakes and had pancake races--flipping a pancake in a skillet! I never knew this, but I am glad I do now.

It was 69 degrees here yesterday and will fall to 20 by morning. Brrrrr.....

Hey everyone! I don't check in too often around here, but just saw the thread got moved, so I was happy to find it again! My DH and I are still booked for this cruise, but there still may be a chance we will cancel and rebook for 2009. Probably won't make that decsion for a couple months yet though. But we really are excited and can't wait to be back onboard!!!

We're having quite the storm here tonight.....freezing rain and snow....they are warning people to stay off the roads unless you have to travel....

Since they are warning us to stay off the roads....I guess that means I can't go to the gym tonight... Gee...what a shame!!!!!

My family and I are booked for our very first Disney Cruise and we are getting ever more excited. We have traveled numerous times to WDW and last year we tried our toes in the water with a tiny RCCL cruise at the end of our WDW vacation - we all loved and said we needed to try Disney next. When I read about the 5 day with the 2 CC stops, I just knew that was the cruise for us!

My family consists of myself and my dh, our 4 kids - ds 13, ds 12, dd7, dd3, and my mom aka Gram (she lives with us and has made all of our Disney trips with us so we travel well as a group). We have gty 9 cabins reserved...kinda anxious to see where that will ultimately put us What else? We have late dinner seating...would rather have early, but booked too late and any chance of getting switched seems to have dimmed as the cruise has filled.

Before the cruise we are planning to spend 5 nights at WDW...probably doing POFQ and the rest of the plans for that part of the trip have fallen into place (parks, adr's etc). I am still researching to figure out what we want to do on the cruise portion. I have no idea if we will try Palo's or what shore excursions we want to do, etc. I would love to try a spa treatment, but again not sure on what exactly. SO lots of unknowns for us this cruise, but I am sure all will be made clear eventually
