Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued

I kept meaning to stop by and introduce myself to the old thread. Since you all have just moved, it seems a good time to say - Hello :goodvibes

My family and I are booked for our very first Disney Cruise and we are getting ever more excited. We have traveled numerous times to WDW and last year we tried our toes in the water with a tiny RCCL cruise at the end of our WDW vacation - we all loved and said we needed to try Disney next. When I read about the 5 day with the 2 CC stops, I just knew that was the cruise for us!

My family consists of myself and my dh, our 4 kids - ds 13, ds 12, dd7, dd3, and my mom aka Gram (she lives with us and has made all of our Disney trips with us so we travel well as a group). We have gty 9 cabins reserved...kinda anxious to see where that will ultimately put us  What else? We have late dinner seating...would rather have early, but booked too late and any chance of getting switched seems to have dimmed as the cruise has filled.

Before the cruise we are planning to spend 5 nights at WDW...probably doing POFQ and the rest of the plans for that part of the trip have fallen into place (parks, adr's etc). I am still researching to figure out what we want to do on the cruise portion. I have no idea if we will try Palo's or what shore excursions we want to do, etc. I would love to try a spa treatment, but again not sure on what exactly. SO lots of unknowns for us this cruise, but I am sure all will be made clear eventually :)
Good Morning.....

Would you mind sharing the names of Everyone in your Party?

Then I can add you to the roster on page 2 of this thread!
Since it is your first cruise!

I say skip Palo!
Unless, there is a way for you to try brunch!

We also went on RCCL once! you are in for a Real Treat!!!!
:cool1:

As Julie said,
There are lots of DCL pros on this thread, so jump in with questions whenever you have them!

Was it really 60 something in NY yesterday?

Peter

The weather was great yesterday-my 2 sons were playing baseball in the backyard on feb. 6 in short sleave shirts!

I love it, but I know it is only temporary-rain came through and now it is a bit chilly.

PA Princess-Once you do a Disney Cruise, well that is it. You can't go back! (Although I have never been on RCCL) Last year we took a Carnival Cruise-it was a treat from my father-in-law. My DS, 12 at the time continually compared the cruise to Disney and it was not meeting his standards!:goodvibes

I am glad to see some more children the ages of mine. My sons will be 13 and 11 and DD will be 10 at the time of the cruise.

DAVID-We call them frying pans here in the states too!:lmao:
My grandmother used her cast iron frying pan to make Irish Soda Bread.

Peter-why do you say "skip Palo"?

Scott- I see you have a Minnie marathon logo on your signature. is it too late to sign up for that and do you have a link to sign up. There is a 5K and a 1/2 marathon that weekend --yes?
Noreen

Registration is still open, http://disneyworldsports.disney.go.com/dwws/en_US/marathon/listing?name=MinnieMarathonEventListingPage2

See if that works, if not google Disney endurance series.

It is a 5K and a 15K so not a true 1/2 marathon. There was a rumor of it changing to a 1/2. Also this is the last year for it, as it will change to a Princess theme, I want a Minnie Medal.

No, do not have you mixed up with your twin sisters.
If I had access to the 11 day cruise thread, just think of what I could find.:rolleyes1

Here I am trying to catch up, having to find a new thread... and now I can only THANK GOD.. that the loooooong threads no longer have access.......
Gee... do I get to add "Proprietor of the Steerage Bar" to my resume???

Still have a few pages to read...

:welcome: PA Princess :welcome:

What part of PA are you from??... I'm a native "Burgher" Live in the MouseHouse now though....

Bob: Loved the Mardi Gras pics.

Peter: For roster purposes we're in 2588

Cheryl: GREAT birthday for Bob. Can't wait to see pics. Give me a call when you're up here if you have a few minutes to spare.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Evening everyone.

A quick post to stop the thread falling off the first page.

Just gone 11:00 here in the UK so off to bed.

Goodnight everyone

David

:cheer2: Welcome!:cheer2:

What a wonderful family you are bringing on this cruise! There are lots of DCL pros on this thread, so jump in with questions whenever you have them.

Hi Julie

Congratulations on the thread's 100th post.:cool1:

David

Evening everyone....

IS IT SEPTEMBER YET?????????????????

We are finally all dug out after our dreaded snow and ice storm.....and on the news tonight they said we are getting another storm on Saturday :scared1: I don't know where we are going to put any more snow.....

Okay..I'll admit it... I'm the EVIL one... well duh.. just look at my avatar... :lmao:

I'm baaaaaaaack!!!

Two and 1/2 more inches and we will be at an all time high for snowiest winters :scared1: We still have a long way to go for winter. They are talking maybe we can hit 100" this year :scared1: :scared1: We're already over 70"!

UPDATE ON JAMMIE BREAKFAST

I have given this a lot of thought and have decided that our cruise is just too short to plan a jammie breakfast. With our cruise only being 5 days and with only 1 sea day it seems that it will interfere with people's plans to do Palo's brunch or like on the 11 night cruise, a character breakfast (right Celeste!!!)

I know Scott mentionned something about an informal jammie breakfast at Topsiders one morning....and maybe that's the way to go....we can figure that all out closer to the cruise date.

I'm really sorry...I hope you all understand.

Okay..I'll admit it... I'm the EVIL one... well duh.. just look at my avatar... :lmao:

Leslie....you aren't EVIL.....you're just drawn that way!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Seriously everyone, Leslie is one of the nicest twin sisters one could ever have

Peter: For roster purposes we're in 2588

Hey...I didn't realize you are just down the hall from us!!!!!! Yippee!!!!! We could actually have 2 Steeerage Bar's on this cruise......one AFT and one FORWARD!!!!!!

Tracy...WOW...that's a lot of snow......they also said on the news that we are probably going to have a record breaking year for snow.....we actually had snow lightning last night....something we had never experienced before....it was really scary...

Wow! You guys are chatting away!!!

No snow for us this winter at all. It was unseasonably warm last night at 70 degrees!

Sorry to hear you're cancelling the Jammie Breakfast. Joe + I were looking forward to it :sad2:

Looks like we'll just have to book a longer cruise! :thumbsup2

Scott, love your running prints on your sig!!!

WELCOME to ALL!!! :yay:

Packing tonight for another trip to Mouse Beach. Can't wait to RELAX!!!
