Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

Did you happen to see the threads on the main cruise forum board? Someone from the Norfolk, VA area has been posting pics there of the Magic in dry dock. :goodvibes

Good Evening All.
Just a short post before the Sunday Night Football. (Cleveland by 4):cheer2:

Tough week getting thru the cruise withdrawal. :sad1:

Today has been a rainy one, with IKE visiting at about 2:30 with heavy rain and wind.
It was a good day to stay in and get stuff done.
Finally made my apple pie. The tree in the yard was full of them this year.
May make a couple more plus applesauce.:thumbsup2

Organized trip pics. Learning how to put them on a DVD.
Uploaded pics here>>> CRUISE PICS and ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE PICS.

When we were at AKL we played "Find the Hidden Mickey".
We found several and Scott and Lynn pointed out a few we missed.
But, we had a Hidden Mickey right under our nose at home.:goodvibes
While playing with Belle, I noticed.....

Kewl deal with Belle

We booked ABD to Peru in Sept 2009.

Hi Everyone

Mom and I arrived home this evening....we had a fun drive home from WDW this weekend....found many stations without gas and the ones that did have gas were charging $4.50 a gallon....although the pocketbook is a lot lighter...we made it home safe & sound.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for another MAGICal cruise....I regret that I did not get to meet many of you (Verandah Man included)...or did not get to spend more time with others....

Thanks to everyone for our KEWL FE gifts...it was fun to come back to the room each day to see what was there....

Many many thanks to our great tablemates for our "family" dinner each night....it truly added to the unforgetableness of our cruise.

Bob and Scott....Mom and I are sorry we didn't get to meet up at WDW to give you your buttertarts...we were able to find someone that took them off our hands!!!!!

Our week at WDW after the cruise was spent "melting" in the parks....I don't think I have ever been so exhausted at the end of every day because of the heat.....and to top it off Mom and I both got colds....probably from the 30 below air conditioning in the buildings!!!

Will have to go back and read the 20 odd pages of posts since the last time I posted.....

P.S. Bob....KEWL hidden Mickey on Belle!!!!!!

Hazel and I attended the 3pm DISmeet on deck 10 but didn't make the 4:30pm meet because our luggage had just arrived and Hazel wanted to get the clothes put away since we had early dining.

I finally started working to update my blog this evening. Things have been a bit crazy since arriving home from the cruise. Not sure how long it will take me to finish the update, but I will be working on it as time permits.

Wish we had met more DIS'ers, but the 5 days went by so fast.

Hi everyone - back in Britain at last. It's warm here today but cold by Florida standards. I've got another day off to try and get over the jet-lag - I suffer it really badly for some reason.

Still unpacking the eight cases with clothes all over the lounge at the moment.

Many thanks for making the cruise such a memorable one and also for the FE gifts. :worship: Alex and Bethan loved distributing ours but it was done over two days as there were so many:thumbsup2

Best wishes

David

Elaine - glad you made it home safely! Scott also picked up a cold on that trip, he has been miserable - I will probably end up picking it up from him shortly! Also sorry that we missed seeing you there!

I agree that it was awfully hot at WDW.

Have a great day everyone!

It was definately one of the longest weeks in my life!

Great pics:thumbsup2 I loved the video of September 5 "Castaway Cay" :lmao: :rotfl2:
I have to share it out with the folks at work. Nobody believed me when I told them we had 25 foot waves.

That hidden mickey on Belle is great, how many hidden mickeys have you found before you found the one right at home?:rotfl2:

Not sure.
Have only looked on the Wonder and Magic for them.
When we were at AKL, there was a book in the gift shop about Hidden Mickeys that got us thinking about the ones there.

We never noticed the ones on Belle before.
Yep, there is one other one on the other side of her belly.
That one takes a bit more imagination.

Tippy, our first beagle, never had big spots.
Just a lot of small ones. Ticking.
Of course, Belle has that lightening bolt on her back too.:lmao:

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the uploads.
The "Castaway Cay" idea just kinda came to me that morning and it sort evolved.

Hey Everyone,

Heard some scuttlebutt about the Magic going to Copenhagen and Oslo in 2010. Anyone thinking of going?

Hi,

Hope everyone got home safely and doing well. We got home late Sunday night. Spent the night in St. Petersburg visiting a friend. This cruise was the best!! My first Disney cruise. I feel kinda empty, since I don't have anything to plan now. Guess I'm gonna have to book another soon.

It was great meeting some of you. I didn't get to meet as many as I hoped, but those I did, it was a pleasure.

My thanks to Peter and the gang for the great lanyards. It will be in my memory box. It was so very nice of all of you to do that. The FE exchange was a lot of fun and thanks for all the cool gifts. We have some very creative people.

A great big thanks to Seaulater. I just loved, loved the scrapbooking class. I can't wait to fill my album with my pictures so it can sit on my work desk as a daily reminder of how great this cruise was. It was a lot of work, and I am very appreciative of all that you did. You are very talented.

A very special hello to the Bishop family and Bowen family. It was so great to meet you and to get to know your families. Getting to know you made our cruise extra special and I will always have very fond memories. I have some great pics and will be sending those out in a week or so.

My parents, my daughter Taylor and my friends Renee and David all felt that this was absolutly the best vacation. Very magical.

I hope this thread stays going. It has been so nice being a part of this group. Best Wishes to all.

Sorry Bob, I thought you knew the autor of the Hidden Mickey Book was on the cruise with us.

If this is happening we will definitely book one of those cruises. Irrespective of from where in Europe this cruise will depart, it should be quite easy for us to get there.

I was sad we never got to meet, I would have loved to talk to you about Manchester. I hope we get another chance :flower3:
