Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

Hi All,

I got my cruise pics and videos loaded into my Webshots account. I need to go back and edit some pics, but really feeling out of sorts still, so that will have to wait. I have NEVER felt this bad after a cruise. Must be between the motion of the ship, and the bumpy plane ride home yesterday, finally caught up to me. I'm hoping to get back to Riverwinds tomorrow, because after spending 5 days on the Magic, I really need it!!! :lmao:

Good Morning Folks.....

Sometime between 11:10 yesterday morning and 11:30 last night, Hazel misplaced her cell phone. It could be anywhere from the Orlando Airport, as she used it to call Lina in the morning, to the plane, the Philly Airport, or even in our friends car who picked us up and brought us home. Looks like we have several phone calls to make this morning.

Speaking of cell phones. When I woke up this morning, I forgot where I was and went reaching for my cell phone on the nightstand next to the bed. Then I remembered, I wasn't on the Magic any longer........:rotfl:

   Hazel just opened her box of Trail Mix bars that she took with her on the cruise, her cell phone was in the box.......

We were the second family stood at the port for 90 minutes waiting for the Radisson shuttle and seeing a large amount of shuttles going by not stopping. I avoided to get burned all through the cruise, but waiting with the sun beating down on us changed that very quickly. Still, we had a great day here enjoying the free internet and the great pool and met up with two families from the cruise meet thread for the Wonder. Another 45 minutes or though and we will hopefully be back on the shuttle that will take us to the Wonder for the second half of our DCL adventure.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the wonderful FE gifts. You all are so creative! We were not nearly as creative as all of you but had a good time with it still.

Thanks for sharing in this wonderful adventure.

:goodvibes

Good morning all! My chair is rocking as I type this! We were a little nervous Thursday night too! Not sure what deck you all were on but on deck 2 we woke up in the middle of the night to several BOOMs which we later determined must have been the waves hitting the hull.

Thanks to all of you who made this cruise special for us! The kids at first gave me grief over the FE's but who do you think couldn't wait to see what was waiting for them! It was great to finally put names with faces after all these months! Thanks again and I hope we meet again on future calm sea cruises!!!

We are back home as well.

I really wanted to thank everyone for the lanyards and all the fish extender gifts. The kids really liked the gun and used it as part of their pirate night costumes.

Here they are on pirate night with some of their fish extender booty!

I wanted to say that thank you to all for the FE gifts, they were great! Again, thank you to Peter and "Crew" for the lanyards- my DH loved his and wore it all week. Still wish we had more time to meet more of you and I still wish I could have spent a few more days on the Magic. Very sad about missing our 2nd day in Castaway Cay, but this just means I need to book another trip!
The scrapbooking activity was great- thanks Linda- this was my 1st one and it was so easy- you had everything so organized!:thumbsup2

Safely at Wilderness Lodge, ready to ride out whatever comes next! Thank you to ALL the generous people who filled our fish extender with so many goodies! YOU know who you are. Dimples and OC were totally thrilled with their teddy bear tee shirts!

Thank you especially to Seaulater (Linda) for the VERY fun scrapbooking event AND for getting us the second day on the second sea day AND for all the fun supplies you brought.

Thank you to Peter and the Lanyard donors - They were beautifully done and I wore it proudly.

Thank you for the "little things" - to the lady that brought me a cup of ice water while I lay in the hot tile lounger - to the lady who complimented my hair when I wasn't sure I really really liked my new cut - to CathyS's daughter who gave me her seat on the bus - YOU ROCK!

Thanks to Captain Thord, who kept us safe.

See you REAL soon!

I am so very glad they loved the tshirts, TigTag shopped long and hard for those...lol

your hair turned out amazing and you "should" love it lady, makes you look incredible....

I too wish to thank everyone for all the fun things I found in our fish extenter and hope you all loved the chocolates, I know for next time, my name is suppose to go on them...lol

Thanks for a lot of fun and Scott, thanks for all the tips the morning I met you on deck 10.

Can't wait to sail again, just not in August/Sept I don't think....lol

Hi all. Got home yesterday about 4:30 p.m. Flights were uneventful and even left the gate in Orlando and Atlanta a little early. Both flights full, but not overbooked.

Now doing laundry this morning. Finished unpacking. Now as the laundry gets done, I am just repacking my cruise clothes for the DVC member cruise which is 2 weeks from today. So will be trekking back across the country in 13 days for another cruise!

Wish the cruise could have been longer. Had a KEWL time (as Scott would say). Thanks for the nice feedback on the scrapbooking class. Hopefully, I will get my trip(s) all scrapbooked one day!

Okay, work to do here.

Thanks again everyone for such a memorable time!

I wanted to stop by and thank everyone who added to the Magic of our cruise...the fish extender gifts were a huge hit with my girls. Thanks to everyone who put a little something in them. Some of you went way overboard! We also appreciated the lanyards, although there were just so many things to do we didn't get to meet very many DISers. And thanks to Linda for organizing the scrapbooking. Again, too many choices, so I just had a minute to stop by to pick up the kits, but I've got Thursday reserved for putting them together. Alas, it's now time to start laundry and lunch...DD8 suggested putting our server Igor in our suitcase but he just didn't fit, so I guess there'll be no one to put my napkin in my lap. MIL is already talking about the possibility of next summer and DH hasn't said no; I'm also keeping an eye out for the Alaska cruise in 2010.

We are at AKV with Bob and Lee next door, really, lol

We also leave tomorow, packing etc.

It was great to meet some new friends, only regret was not meetng more. WoW wehad a big group.

Glad everyone made it home safely. Andy, saw you awesome pictures and video. What deck were you on when you took pictures of the sea?

How bad was the ship rocking? Was it more noticeable in the front or back?

We're going on the Magic right out of drydock on 9/24/08.

Hi Bev--that would have been a porthole on deck 3 at the Beat Street area. Our stateroom was just below Sessions, a short walk up to deck 3.

To be honest, the worst of the rocking took place overnight. I first noticed it at 3am when my nightstand drawer opened up and I couldn't shut it. Then I got up to use the bathroom and had a little trouble walking. Also noticed a few things fall off our table.

I'm finally starting to feel a bit better, Took a long nap today from 11am until 4:30pm, I think Hazel came in the bedroom a couple of times to make sure I was still alive......

Bev, I think it was noticeable every where on board! There were carpet dryers set up all over the place. Laxdad had to take our son's friend to the clinic Friday am for an ear ache and the Doc said they were swamped! That was the morning of Andy's pics and video. We had things falling off the dressers and our DIL and DS's cabin door flew open - guess it wasn't latched. We also heard what we think was the closet door in the cabin above us slam and then there was the sound of the waves hitting the hull that brought us all sitting up in bed. It was loud. We were on Deck 2 aft.

Just checking, and posted this on Andy's thread, does anyone know what the hold up was in debarkation yesterday? We have never had an experience like that leaving a Disney ship. It took us over an hour and the line snaked back to PC at times.

Just stopping by to add my thanks to everyone for such a wonderful cruise!
We had so much fun with the FE goodies ... giving and getting. We enjoyed getting to know our dining buddies ... Noreen your kids are great and so polite, it was a pleasure to be with them ... and you and Bob too ;)

DH asked Brent about the loud noises and rough seas Thursday night, he said that the ship was turning around and so the ship was going against the waves instead of riding with them. I would have loved to have seen everyone's cabins from above, I'm sure everyone sat up straight in their beds at pretty much the same time ... we woke up when the closet door opened and the light came on

Thanks also to Lynn and Scott for talking DVC with us :goodvibes

Just going to add another voice to the many "thank you's" for all the wonderful FE gifts. We just couldn't believe the thoughtfulness and generosity shown by our fantastic DIS "family" (Sherwoods, you are off the hook!). :worship: The lanyards were terrific and so useful; definitely something we'll keep in our memory box. :worship: I loved being one of those lanyard people!

We certainly didn't have enough time to meet everyone, but we really enjoyed getting to know a bunch of you. The wine and cheese party was sooooo much fun :woohoo: It's just a shame our hosts couldn't find a bigger suite for all of us :rotfl: . Yeah, uh huh.

Now I wish we had another cruise in the works, but DH wants to hold off for one of Disney's special cruises, like the repo. Wow, I'd love to be aboard one of the new ships on a first sailing!!!

Nezy, now I'm trying to get DH to register as BoosGrampa (or maybe Gypper, don't know yet ;) ).

The hold up was that they were short a couple of Customs agents.

Thanks everyone....

I knew you'd know!!;) And that explains the loud thuds! I hadn't put 2 and 2 together. Thanks. Have a great first day back from vaca to everyone heading back to work today. I'd rather not but I must go and help pay for the next cruise!!!;)

First Off Thanks to All you great folks for making the trip another great memory.

We are at MCO awaiting a flight home,

The parks seemed not very busy as we were able to do several big attractions with out more than a 5 min wait or less.

Dreading going back to teh salt mines,

Thank you all so much for the fish extender gifts. This was the highlight for my children! It really made their cruise and made up for missing Castaway Cay on Friday. Thank you also for the landyards and nametags. It was fun meeting people IRL. I was nervous with the rocking but did not get sick or have a panic attack, so I feel I was successful in the bad weather:)
