Spaghetti Squash?

Ok, well I cooked it liked I was told 375 for an hour, I split it open and it's still kinda firm, are the "noodles" supposed to fork out easy? I put it back in, minus the seeds to see what happens.
 
Yes, you should be able to scrape it out, and it comes out like spaghetti strands.
 
Yes- they should be easy to get out with a fork. And you should cut it in half and spoon out the seeds before cooking... It'll go faster.

And easier way to cook spaghetti squash is to cut it in 1/2, remove the seeds; place it cut side down in a shallow microwaveable dish with about 1/4 inch of water in the bottom. Wrap it with plastic wrap and microwave on high for about 10-12 minutes. Just be careful of the steam (I learned that lesson the hard way... :sad2: )
 
It's done, yipee! And pretty tasty I might add, I added some butter and pepper and I'm going to serve it with some Baby Back Ribs tonight (we are on lo-carb) so this will be a nice addition to our meal and different.

Next time, if you microwave it, save the juices and add it back in. It will keep the noodles moist. I also add parmesan cheese. I serve it with shrimp, sauted in oil olive with garlic and red pepper flakes.

Spaghetti squash with shrimp scampi is a great low carb meal :thumbsup2
 
It's also great with a tomato sauce or a pesto sauce. I nuke my squash (with seeds removed.) If it's still to firm or dry, I sprinkle it with water & cook it some more.
