Does anyone know if the space mountain ride in DL is different from the ride in MK? I don't mean scenery wise - I mean is it faster, slower, have dips, etc.? Anything that might make a scaredy cat like me not want to go on? Thanks.

I think there may be some minor differences, but nothing major. If you liked the WDW SM, you will like the DLR SM. Is this your 1st trip to DLR? I LOVE Disneyland.....it beats MK hands down. And we really enjoyed CA. Hope you have a great trip!

It is quite different. The rockets are a different configuration with two people sitting next to each other in each row. There is only one track and it is much smoother. The track has extremely tight turns and as it gets closer to the lowest levels it really seems like your car is going incredibly fast. The MK version is more rough feeling and didn't seem nearly as compact or fast. I don't know what the specs are on the speeds but they say the Space Mountain at DL only goes 28 miles per hour. It seems twice that toward the end.

Don't forget the music (when it's working) adds quite a bit to the ride enjoyment.

Yes. I had forgotten about that. The music does indeed make the ride seem faster. It starts of mellow and then when you get to the top of the lift it gets wild. It is a radical electric guitar version of the Carnival of the Animals Aquarium. It really works well to help the ride... but the sound doesn't always work so you may or may not get to hear it.

The one in wdw has a bigger drop, just a little one but it is more than the one in DL, i hate drops and i rode the one in DL a hundred times and loved it then i went to wdw and rode it and it scared the begezzies out of me, but just remember i am the biggest wimp when it comes to rollercoasters so im sure its not that much of a difference.

that the intensity levels are about the same. If you like the WDW version, you will be able to handle and will like the DLR version. The question was if the poster would be to scared on the ride.....not about scenery.
