Southwest's policy canceling 1 person?

My DD want to travel with me to visit my parents in FL. Would it be alright to book us on one reservation? She may have to cancel due to softball. Am I allowed to cancel part of a reservation with Southwest for a credit or will I have to cancel all of it and rebook? I want to take advantage of some great rates.

Book it and you can call them later to modify your ressie.

I think you can even do this online now. When you go in to modify or cancel, you check off which ticket you want to adjust....... I am pretty sure I have done this. We use SW most of the time now, because it is so flexible.

I've done it. At the time I just called and had the person removed from the reservation and they gave us a credit.
