I'm leaving from Providence,RI the sunday after thanksgiving and the prices are crazy, I haven't booked a flight hoping it will come down. Any shot or what?????????

absolutely!! dings for your dates have not been released yet... i'm patiently waiting on an october ding fare from MCO to LI...

And I would not count on Dings for the Sunday after Thanksgiving. That is the single busiest travel day in the US. SW has already blocked it out for their Rapid Rewards which tells me they think they can sell those tickets.

I would not wait too long on that day, you run a real risk of that day selling out. It's not uncommon.

I would say so. I booked our August trip in May at $1,064 for 4 people (leaving from Prov also!). Then within the last 2 wks (4-5 wks) before our trip, the price went down to $59 each way. That was $520 lower than original. Also, I remember someone posting that SW will credit your credit card if you call the non-toll number (not the 800-number). Well, I called and with no questions asked they credited by credit card the $520 - on a non-refundable flight.

So, what did I do with the extra money?? Well, I booked 4 more nights in Disney for $379!! We are going in August and even though I called after the June 25 deadline for free dining, because I had an existing reservation I could add on days with the free dining included!! Now we're going for 10 days!

Don't ever expect a DING anytime between Nov 20-Nov 29. No airline including Southwest are going to "give away" cheap tickets during the busiest travel time of the year. They know passengers will pay whatever to travel during holiday periods.

I'm looking for a Sunday PIT/MCO and a Friday return in late October, I've noticed that most dings for September are Mon-Thurs and sometimes Saturday. Now they are also only including specific flights. So I booked at $177, it had been $211.

We were debating on waiting for SW for our Nov 21 - 29 trip to DW but recently it seems SW never has availability on the early morning flight from PVD for the cheaper fares so we booked JetBlue from BOS the day they came out. I am glad I did because sure enough when SW releasd their fares they were much more than what I paid for JetBlue and as usual "unavailable" for the cheaper fares.

What is the non-toll number. Thanks!

I would say so.

I would say not. Travel in August does not compare to trying to get a cheap fare for Thanksgiving week. In this case, I'd grab the lowest fare I could find now.

OP - Is there a reason you need to fly SWA? If not, try another airline. I searched for flights from Logan to Orlando leaving the day after Thanksgiving and returning Nov 30, and you can get a non-stop on American Airlines for $247 RT. That seems pretty reasonable (and quite frankly, preferable to flying SWA).
