Southwest Open till 11/4?

Hello friends,

Just noticed that SWA is open thru 11/4 (at least that's what the homepage says!). However, when I tried to shop for flights after Sept. 30, I get an error message saying flights are not available after Sept. 30.

Anyone else getting the same message? Maybe they are in the process of updating their site?

Try again...I just got through on the SW app on my iPad.

Not a happy camper, though. $144 each way from Long Island for the end of Oct!!!

I managed to plug in my dates and get prices. I booked reward travel first and then went back to book the cash flights and it wouldn't allow me to do it. I'm getting the same error message everybody else is. Sure hope the $82 fare I saw is still there when they open it back up again.

It's me again...I'm finally in! Can book into October. However...the flights I need are exactly the same (high) price as last week. I was really hoping to see some lower fares :-(

I tried early AM - dates were offered, but got error message. Tried again 6:45am and was able to check fares / availability. I was just researching standard award availability and was pleased at multiple options. We are waiting to book early December on awards and hope it goes as well when those dates open. (I also hope to book before work, so early AM is much better than the old 10am opening!)

...booked our flights home on 10/2.....the flights were still $144 MCO to Islip but it's a 4 day weekend..here schools are off 3/28 & 2/29 so I don't think they will go down....and if they do I'll be able to use the credit

we went the end of October last year and paid $79 for flights.....if I were you I'd wait.....

this year we are traveling over a 4 day school break...9/28-10/2 and I the prices for our flight down have gone way up since I booked so I booked our flights home on 10/2 this AM

That's how much we paid last September, as well. I was kind of hoping that their Oct prices would have been more in line with Jet Blue's, which are $97 each way. But getting to, and flying out of JFK, is such a hassle compared to Islip.

Rats.

I'm definitely going to wait.

Last year I didn't book the day the fares went up....I waited a few months and they went down....hopefully the same will happen for you this year

I was excited it was open this morning until I saw the prices! $172 and $265! Oh, and the flight times really suck, too. Looks like Airtran for us. Now when will they open their schedule?

It is a mid-week flight. I just checked weekend fares and they are twice that price.

unfortunately all Sept and Oct flights in and out of Islip start at $144 mid-week as well...they really have no competition in and out of Islip.....if we want cheaper fares we have to go to JFK or LGA

If it makes you feel better, I just booked 10/8 to 10/16 out of Albany and had to pay $390 round trip (including all fees/taxes).
SW is the only non stop game in town here and I can't afford to wait...it's too likely that all the wanna getaways will sell out!
I had a feeling the prices would be crazy when they pushed back the release date.
Oh well, at least I have my flights...getting there early and leaving late will be nice...just more time in my happy place!
If the price goes down I'll take my credit and apply it to my next trip.

Got our return trip booked - $77 but oh so early - 8:00am flight. All flights for the rest of the day were $194. Hoping a better time slot will go on sale before October, but for now couldn't justify paying $468 more for a little more sleep and a few more hours at the hotel.

Just saw something on the news this morning and they said to book airfare ASAP - they think prices will continue to rise because of the price of fuel.
I know with Jet Blue & SW you can get a credit if the fare goes down. Don't know about the other airlines....
