Southwest Open till 11/4?

$110 each way out of PHL. Not sure if I will book that, I "prefer" under $100 each way, but I guess this is pretty close. With no baggage fees on top of that, not too bad.

Looks like I'll be waiting for some better fares for late Oct. Currently $160 each way or $320 round trip from SDF to MCO.

Just booked for $110. pp each way from PHL, end of Oct. Also got $110.pp back to PHL . $220. RT per person end of Oct.
Its a little more than I wanted to spend, but lately all the other carrires were MUCH higher. At least I got non-stops, and times that work great for us.......leaving 6:25pm Friday from PHL to MCO, and leaving MCO to PHL the following Sunday at 8:10pm. At least we will have 2 complete weekends at WDW :cool1:.
No baggage fees also help, and we only fly Southwest. Didnt feel like trying anther carrier for a LOT more $$$.
More than I wanted to spend but I am afraid to wait. They say airfare will be going WAY up over the summer months :scared1:. I was seeing higher prices for our flight home from other carriers, than what I booked our RT flights for. I am feeling ok about it, but will keep checking to see if fares go down. At least I can get a credit if they do. $220. RT is not too bad for non-stops, at prime times, with free bags.

Good luck to everyone..........

Booked our mid October flights. Not the price that I wanted, but there were only 2 non stop flights out of Houston, and I didn't want to lose out on a non stop flight. Hoping that prices go down and I can get a credit toward the next trip!

Well we have changed our plans now. We are going to drive there and fly back. That should offset some of the high cost. We found a minivan rental from Milwaukee to Orlando one way for $418 and it has unlimited miles. Not too bad at all. The kids will be so excited to get there since they don't know we are going until we leave that I don't think the drive will be that bad.

Yep, I'm waiting too. $340 each for us RT for Oct 15-23. And I think SDF's sole nonstop flight times are yuck. Last trip we flew nonstop with AT out of LEX. Flight times were better for us and snagged our seats for less than $700 including seat assignment fees & luggage. SW never even came close. Not really happy that SW bought AT because I'm betting that other option will not be there once the merger is completed.

DH suggested I check other airlines and found Delta & jet blue had a cheaper nontop with better times! do they charge for bags and if so How much?

Wow, I was waiting on it to open up and I'm shocked. My return flight to Indy on Oct. 23rd is $57 higher than any other Sunday that month or earlier months. Some of the flights that day are $280 vs. $124 other Sundays. I might have to shift the trip by a day to get a lower price on Monday. :(

Does anyone know when they will open through the end of Nov?

My options are SW or USAir -- and SW has a much earlier flight out of PHL (6:35a vs. 8:00a). Prices are slightly lower as well ($220 round trip with no baggage fees thru 11/4).

ETA: Ah, found the thread on the historical opening dates. Geez, I will go insane if I have to wait until midJune to make these reservations!

Found this under "Travel Tools":

We are currently accepting air reservations through November 4, 2011. On May 26, we will open our schedule for sale through January 6, 2011. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

Although, I would assume that they mean Jan 6, 2012.

Just booked our return for $82 and had gotten our filghts down for $67. For a grand total of 340.80 with taxes and fees for both of us. The only downfall is we are leaving a day earlier than planned, but for the price difference it's worth it.

I just got off the phone with Member services and it was no problem adjusting our travel dates.

Wow, that's terrific. Where are you flying out of?

I bit at $110 each way out of PHL. I have been flying 2-3 trips a year PHL/MCO for 10 years and have never paid more than $200 RT. I told my DH last night that if they opened at $110 I would bite and I did. Not happy about cost though! I also always check Baltimore and they were at $150 one way. ACK!!!!

With the fuel costs and less flights, etc. I just got too nervous. Our May trip I waited and they just went up and up and up. Luckily I got the email discount code and was able to get my flights at a good price, but I learned my lesson. Worst case scenario I'll just take the credit if they go down. But I am not real hopeful.

We "woke up" to the fact that SWA had opened the schedule around 9:30 this morning. Probably missed the best fares, but got Thurs 10/6 - Sun. 10/10 (Columbus Day weekend) for $169 down/$210 back. For 3 of us it's a little over $1200 including all taxes/fees--which seems to be exactly what we paid (give or take $100) for this upcoming April school vacation AND last November's Veteran's Day weekend. So pretty consistent from the Northeast around the school break times...

Anyone else get better from PVD/MHT/BDL? Already up $15/pp since this morning, too...

I'm disapointed with the SW fares, but realize they have to make a profit.
From Bradley, you might want to try Jet Blue. I've never flown them before, but seriously thinking about the $94 flight instead of SW $154 for the end of October.

Do you pick seats on Jet Blue? Do they change flights all the time and reassign seats like the other airlines?

Thanks

I'm still surprised at how much they are out of Milwaukee and how much their times changed from September's schedule. Everyone else is crazy higher than SW, though. Anyone know when Airtran is going to release more dates? They go thru mid-October now.

Booked this morning for my October 10-17 trip.

$578.80 total for 2 ppl out of PVD. :(

THe most I've ever paid but I'm afraid the good flight times will go up or sell out. I'm afraid due to the oil prices, airfare won't be coming down.

I usually book Jetblue out of Boston. This will only be my 2nd time flying out of PVD with Southwest. I'm nervous about the differences! :)
