Question on Early Bird Check-In with Southwest....It says it will automatically check us in 36 hours prior to our flight. How do you get your boarding passes when this happens? We are flying out Saturday morning at 6:50 am so 36 hours would have been tonight. However, I haven't seen anything. Will they e-mail them to me?

You will see your boarding position 24 hours out. Then you can print your boarding passes.

Oh, so it will automatically check us in at 36 hours but we won't see it until 24 hours?

Do they send an email or do I just sign into my account?

Log into your account any time AFTER 24 hours before flight and Print Boarding Passes.

Ok, so this may be a dumb question. But how do I know we are really being checked in as "early bird" if we can't see it until 24 hours before? Cause they say we are?

Yep. As long as you have the Early Bird attached to your flight, they will do it. I haven't ever read a report of them not checking someone in that had EB. No one would pay for it if SW was not actually doing it every time.

It sounds like you're suspicious and you're thinking that maybe you're being scammed because everyone finds out their boarding position at the same time?

All I can say is that we always purchase EBCI and we don't even bother to check our boarding position until about 10 hours before our flight when we print our tickets. So far, with multiple trips, we've always had an A boarding position.

Just FYI - if you have a smart phone, you can download the Southwest app and save your boarding pass to your phone (understand printing though if you, or everyone with you, doesn't have that option.)

It's easier to think of it like this: they reserve your boarding position at 36 hours, so you can check in and print your boarding pass at your leisure. Nobody can see their boarding pass prior to the 24 hour mark.

That's correct
