Flying Out August 16th from PVD to MCO

Is it worth paying for the early bird check in????

What are the benefits?

I travel for work and DH joins me for more than a vew vacations each year. We would never consider NOT using the Early Bird convenience.

The one word is convenience. We don't have to worry about being in front of a compter 24 hours piror to departure.....ESPECIALLY returning.

Even if you want to save the $$$ on the outbound flight, use it for your return and you will not have to stop what you are doing the last full day of your disney holiday to find a computer or guest services spot. Besides the fact that it might not be a convenient time to stop what you are doing.....we don't need one more reminder that it's our .... LAST DAY.

In addition....don't forget the frequent fliers on SW always get an automatic front of the line boarding number, now that "The Bird" has been up and running for a while now (and their numbers are chosen 36 hours out), don't forget that if you DON'T choose The Bird....you may automatically be behind a bunch of people before your 24 hour time even begins.

Now....add that to the possibility of handicapped passengers who board first (I seem to always fly with MANY of them to and from Florida destinations)....that pushes you back even more - added to all the other reasons listed above.

Ok, now....my cliff notes answer.....YES, "The Bird" is worth it for your peace of mind. If you don't mind the chance of not boarding early --- and don't mind the possibility of a center seat for your flight....don't bother.

I haven't needed it. Just went to WDW in May, got late A's on the way down and early B's on the way home. There were 4 of us and we all got seats together, not too far back. I don't see a need to spend money on Early Bird. Good luck and have a great vacation!

We flew PVD to MCO in April. We didn't use EBCI and got A boarding passes both ways. I checked in from home for the flight down and guest services at our resort checked us in for the flight back. I have to admit the flights weren't full though. I'm not sure why because usually April is pretty busy.

We are leaving the day after you from PVD and we decieded on the early bird checkin because I will be at work the day before and will not have time to watch the clock to checkin. I was not planning on paying the extra money but now I don't have to worry about it so I guess its worth it to us!

I'm flying out of Manchester, Nh, I'm winging it going down and possibly buying it for the flight back if I get really bad passes for the flight down.

My son has an Iphone, so I could really be anywhere in Disney and just check in with his phone. My phone has internet, but the screen is so small. I checked into SW once before on a trip and thought I was going to go mental scrolling back and forth trying to do it. Never again! :rotfl2:

We purchased it for all 5 of us for our August trip. (No holding a row for us! :rotfl2:)

Ahem. Sorry!

Seriously my luck my internet at home would be down 24 hours out.... and I am not about to try to check in on the tiny screen of a Blackberry.

EBCI it is for our family! :)

didnt use it for traveling to Orlando but did this past may for flying to Minneapolis. I found that it was worth it if your busy doing something and forget about the time and miss the 24 hr window you know that already checked in and can pull it at anytime and print the boarding pass.
since this was my first time having connecting flights using SWA wasnt sure how exactly the 2nd leg of journey was done lol now i know you get both legs at the first checkin time

all 4 legs I was no higher then 35 i was in the 20's on my return flights and low 30's on flight to msp as i decided 2 weeks prior ot the trip for earlybird after reading things on here!
