Southwest Ding! Question

Have a question about SWA's Ding! fares. Sitting here at my computer just now and heard the "ding". Checked what the fares were, offering a $99 each way fare from Chicago to LA. Went and plugged in dates that were within the range and comes up that all the DING! fares are gone and not available. There was maybe a 10 second gap between the time my computer sounded and I plugged in dates--what gives?

there may not have been the $99 special on that day, its happen to me several times. did you check other dates?

I was within the dates specified. It did show a "ding" column all the way to the right and all the way down showed fares were "sold-out". I guess I am wondering if maybe they don't offer that many ding fares to begin with that within a ten second period from receiving the ding message from SWA and going on to book a flight they were all sold out.

Depending on your provider etc... Ding may have been out for a while when you get it. (I have two PCs here.. One goes through my office server and one via AT&T. They NEVER ding at the same time and sometimes it's very different)

Plus, it's not "every flight" on the "Dates" specified. IMHO SW has gotten much better at "revenue management" and there are lot fewer Ding seats as a result.
