southwest check in with iphone

We are going to disney in may. My son has the iphone with the internet. Usually I have someone home check me in on my flight home (24 hours before actual flight). I want to make my son do it while we are in the park. I don't know much about iphones.

Does he need to download a southwest app before we go or does he just log in to southwest.com.

Money is very tight so I don't want to spend the extra $20 to do the early check in thing and I need to sit with him because I end up taking medication to fly.

I've done it right from my phone without downloading any apps. You can just go to http://mobile.southwest.com/ (the mobile site loads much quicker on phones) and do it like you were sitting at your computer, then print out the boarding pass when you get to the airport.

There is an app, but as the previous poster stated, you don't need it to check in. The app is free though and easy to use.
