I have a one way ding fare for 83. This morning's internet special shows 63 for the exact same flight. Since it is the same flight, can I just change reservations or do I need to cancel and then rebook?

Cancel and rebook. But you can open two browser windows and link to Southwest on both of them. Go all the way through the $63 purchase but don't complete the transaction. ON the other screen, cancel your current reservation. As SOON as you finish that, go to the first screen and apply your newly-created credit to the new ticket.

You just change your flight. Got to Travel Center and I think it's View/Change/Cancel Iteniary. Or something like it. You pick which leg you want to change, pick the cheaper and follow the directions. You'll end up with a credit associated to your same booking number that can be used in the next year.

Oh, sorry didn't see that you had a ding fare. Haven't had any of those

I think even with the DING fare starting you should be able to just adjust it in the Travel center.

I know you can't go to a Ding from there but you should be able to go from a ding.

You can just click on change reservation and then select the sale priced fare. You will be credited the difference to your account that you can use for later travel. I am not sure why everyone says you have to cancel and then rebook... clicking on change reservation worked fine for me.

Just worked for me too-saved a whopping $18 per ticket, but I'll take it! :thumbsup2

I cancelled and then rebooked. I figured I could have changed, but I didn't want to risk it. I wanted to hurry before it was unavailable. Thanks for your replies!
