I thought I had read a few months back that southwest was thinking about doing assigned seats. Does anyone know if they are actually going to and if so, when they will start to do this.

Lack of assigned seating is why I probably won't fly SW again. I just didn't like not knowing if we would sit together with it being my kids first time on an airplane. Also, didn't like the thought of worrying about checking in while at one of the parks in order to get Class A and then having to stand in line really early at the gate because there were a lot of preboarders, like 40+.

have to say the price was right and the flight crew was great, but I'll pay a little more for the peace of mind.
