Southwest Airlines Baby Birth Certificate

Since the rule indicates a birth certificate is needed, it shouldn't matter if some employees ask for it while others don't. The parents should have proof with them every time they travel with a child who does not have their own seat.

Yeah, I don't see how this is complicated at all.

I called SW a couple of weeks ago to add my 4 month old to an upcoming flight as a lap baby. The agent stated that I could bring a copy of her birth certificate or a copy of her shot records as proof of age.

I also confirmed on the call that if there are open seats, I would be able to use one with my baby in her car seat. If not, she'll be on my lap and I can just gate check the car seat.
