There aren't many non-stop options for my trip in June, and they're all pretty pricey. Does Southwest ever add flights?

I would not expect to see more Southwest flights added for June 2013. Southwest has traditionally been good about sticking with a schedule after it's released.

The next schedule, with fights for the holiday period (beginning November 2, 2013) could be different.

Once Southwest and AirTran are fully combined, it will be interesting to see if what the combined route map and flight schedules will look like.

I agree with Horace. It's doubtful that SWA will add any more June flights at this time.

Is AirTran available in your city? In some cities, they have been shifting flights to AirTran. If you book through the SW website, you get free bags.

I've heard as Airtran and Southwest consolidate, some flight routes that have traditionally had direct routes are disappearing and it appears to be for good. MY bil was very upset that southwest got rid of their direct flight from macarthur airport on LI, NY to Ft. Myers, FL.

We are going in October and we had our flight "disappear" for a bit while they consolidated flights with Air Tran over the weekend. Today our flight is back but also they added a Air Tran non-stop flight first thing in the morning that wasn't previously on the SW site as an option.

Southwest still has one direct flight to ft. Myers just not year round anymore .....they cut back on the number of flights a few years ago ....when my son started college there 6 years ago there were usually 3 direct flights a day all year....unfortunately not today

Airlines reduced the number of flights to MCO in order to reduce the number of seats offered at deep discounts in order to fill the seats. Adding flights would be counterproductive.

Southwest almost never adds flights after the schedule is opened up. Adding a flight would generally require dropping a flight in order to free up a plane.

One exception, not applicable here. Southwest is a NFL sponsor. They'll traditionally add a few flights from airports nearest the teams participating in the Superbowl to the host city and a few return flights after the game.
