Southwest 50k mile offer

Does anyone know how often Southwest offers the 50k miles offer? Also do you have to wait the 3 mths to use the miles or do they kick in right away or at least as soon as you charge and pay the $2000 required? We need to take a trip in September so wondering if it is to late for me to apply for the card.

I applied and got the card during the 50,000 point deal. I charged our Disney trip and the points were on the next statement. I am hoping to use mine to go to San Diego with DH (he's going for business) this July.

Same here, the points came on the statement pretty quick. I now use it for most of our bills and pay it off at the end of every month so we are getting a lot of miles. I also switched from cable to Dish Network and earned another 12500 points(we were going to switch anyhow). Love my SW Visa!

Did anyone have to call to give additional info? I had a message on the screen to call them saying they needed additional info and when I came back to the computer, my session had timed out and I no longer have the number or the reference number. Just wondering what else they would need? They did send an email saying they received my app but didn't say anything about contacting them.

So glad I saw this! I got the Premier card earlier this year and earned 50,000+ points and was waiting for the next 50,000 promotion so I could apply for the Plus card and earn the Companion Pass! I just applied and was approved. Woo hoo!!

So even though you already had a personal card in the Premier, you were able to apply for another personal card (Plus) and get an additional 50,000 points?

I already have the Premier card also, but I'm afraid of applying for the Plus because I don't want another card and hit the spending amount if I don't qualify for the points.

As long as they are offering the bonus points when you apply, you will receive them, regardless of whether you already have another card.

Thank you! So now I have a new question - do transferred points from one SW account to another (ie. my husbands RR points transferred to my RR account) count towards the Companion Pass eligibility?
