Hi. January 2019 sees three main San Juan cruises. Two are 7n, one is 6n.

6n - St.M, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados
7n - St. M, Antigua, Aruba, Bonaire (other is slightly different)

6n - $3689 (2A deck 7 mid verandah)
7n- $4702 (ditto)

Price wise 6n is the winner, and St. L and Barbados are two islands I’ve always wanted to visit. So it seems clear cut. But there’s something odd about 6n when we are used to 7n. And San Juan is a long way to go anyway.

Just wondering what fellow cruisers think of the itineraries and if the one less day really makes any difference. Thanks.

I think you already answered your own question since the six night includes two places that you'd really like to go. The difference for the one night is more than $1000, so I'm not sure that's worth it. Perhaps you could extend your holiday a little bit by spending some time in Puerto Rico before or after the cruise.

Yeah! Take like half of that $1000 and see if you could stay an extra day or two in San Juan! That would be great. Might allow you to move your flights to a less popular day which would save you even more money as flights to San Juan are sometimes a little pricey.

Well, they both go to four ports so the question really is if another sea day is worth $1000+ to you. Aruba/Bonaire are relatively unique/newer ports for Disney whereas the southerns have stopped at St Lucia and Barbados for a few years now which might also help explain the price difference.

We were interested in all the ports but chose the 6 night because the date worked better for us. Then we booked a Celebrity cruise later this year that does all three of the ABC islands (not sure why Disney doesn't have all three on any of their itineraries). Needed to put that savings over the cost of the 7 night to good use :)

Thanks. Definitely leaning towards the 6n. Just need validation! Flights aren’t that bad. We can get direct from Toronto return for $1000 Canadian for two people. Typical flights to Orlando aren’t that much cheaper. And we can fly in and out on Sundays so it opens up weekend flight options. On the Fantasy in four weeks and will try booking onboard.
