South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Hi all

After a slow week last week, I lost 3 lbs this week. I hope everything is going well for everyone else here. I am getting my resume together to apply for a new job. I am currently teaching part time at a community college and a local college is looking for a full time professor that I think would be perfect for me. I need to have a couple of friends of mine proof read it before I send it in. I will let you know how everything turns out.

Jeremy, congrats!!! 3 pounds is 3 pounds. Sometimes the weight just falls up and sometimes it's slower. I'm glad that you are seeing results!

Everything is going great here. I have somehow lost another 2 pounds which puts me at 60 pounds total!!! I can't remember the last time I weighed 122. However, I am happy and it puts me in the safe zone that I had hoped to get to when I started.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!

I lost 2lbs on south beach over 1 week even though i have dropped off it a few days due to short vacation. I am starting again on Monday. :sunny:

Thanks Sheree' yes I know 3 lbs is a good week. When I had weight myself last Saturday I had only lost 1/2 a lb that week. It sure does seem to come and go in phases.

Jeremy

Yes, I know, two post in a row. I went to Krogers today and they had the SBD frozen dinners. They looked good but they were about $.50 - 1.00 more than the Weight Watchers or Lean Cuisine low carb meals. I don't even pay full price for them. I wait for them to be 1/2 of then I stock up for several weeks. Several of them included asian style noodles that the low carb meals don't have. If the price comes down or they go on sale I will definately try them and include them for more variety. They also had the SBD Cereal and bars. Kraft has added a couple and repackaged the Carb Well items as SBD. They didn't have the Pizza at our store so I'm interested in seeing it and the price of it. Kraft also has a website devoted to the SBD at http://www.krafthealthyliving.com. They had some thing listed as south beach friendly that I hadn't thought of before. Mainly the reduced fat Triskets they list as a phase 2 and 3 friendly food. If anybody tries any of these let all of us know what you think.

Congrats Melissa, Jeremy and Sheree on your losses !!!

Congrats to all of you "losers!" :cool1: I wish I could join in your celebration. I did lose inches this week, but no weight. I guess I can live with that...again! LOL

Hang in there, everyone!

Sheila, with me everything helps whether its inches or weight. I've lost so many inches I'm almost in a zero and I don't know where to go with that!!! I'm not trying to hear a zero. I might have to cut back on those workouts a bit.

Keep up the good work EVERYONE!!!

Hi guys,

I'm checking in. I'm happy to report that I'm down another 2 pounds which brings my total weight loss to 104 pounds! Yay!!!! I love Phase 1! I didn't think I could go back to it but it hasn't been bad at all. Combining it with the Oprah challenge where I can eat up to 2 fruits per day helps. I can now add the whole grains back but I'm not in any hurry as they seem to slow my weight loss down so it will definitely be good carbs in moderation for me.

Congrats to Sheree, Jerry and Melissa on your losses!

Jerry - thanks for the link to the Kraft website. I haven't seen any of the frozen entrees in the grocery store but I'm interested in that pizza. I'll be keeping my eye out. I was a big fan of the Triscuits before I started Oprah's challenge but haven't had any in a month and I didn't buy the fat free kind. I wonder what they taste like.

Keep up the great work and I hope you each have a Beachy day! :)

Way to go, Lisa!!!! :cheer2: I just returned from the Hershey Hotel and Spa, and good news.... no weight gained!! I am very proud of how good I was. I did have some chocolate, who could resist? But I was very good otherwise. What a great place. It was an early anniversary celebration weekend. Actual anniversary is next month.
Keep up the good work everyone!
:goodvibes

WTG Lisa and Melissa. This is a plan that really really works.

I just got back from San Antonio and I've gained no weight either. Now tomorrow I'm back to exercising as I've missed the last two day.

Hope everyone had a great Wednesday!!!

:teeth:

I am on my 9th day of South Beach. I have lost about 5lbs...I'm not really too sure because my scale is freaking out. I've been doing around 30-40 minutes of arobics/interval weight training and sometimes walking a mile in the evenings. I just had my fourth baby in January and I gained 40 lbs with him. :earseek: I have had 4 children in since 2000 so my body hasn't had time to heal inbetween. I started out at 180 before birth and a week later was at 160. I am down to 151.5...I think..you know the freaky scale thing. Anyway, my first goal is 130. Then after that 120. I am 5' 2". I am starting to really want junk this week...help! I need some encouragement since my husband seems to think I can fight this myself and he can eat junk in front of me. :sad2:

Hello Mandee, Welcome. Hang in there. You can do it. If you haven't cheated at all, then those craving should be gone. Since you are, how about some sugar free jello and some whipped cream? There are some great receipes in the book that can help with the wanting junk food stage.

Good luck and come here anytime. We are always willing to help, motivate, rant and rave and CELEBRATE!!!!!!

Hello everyone. I'm just checking in on everyone. I hope you all had a great week and a wonderful weekend!!!

Hi Mandee - congrats on the 5 lb weight loss !!! As Sheree mentioned, the sugar free jello and whipped cream was good for me - it felt like cheating but really isn't Keep up with it and you will continue to see results (not always on the scale though - that could be discouraging but stay positive) Usually if you're not dropping lbs you're losing inches......

Happy weekend everyone !

Happy Friday Beachers,

I want to check in before the crazy weekend starts. Things are going well. My eating is clean (still Phase 1). I just can't seem to get myself to add the whole wheat products back. I know I can and I probably should add something but I don't want to slow down the results I've been seeing since starting the Oprah challenge in addition to walking on the Beach. I might try a little ww pasta sometime on the weekend. And then again maybe not!

Mandee - we are happy to have you join us! Welcome to the Beach! Congrats on losing 5 pounds already, that is just awesome work!!! My cravings went away after the first week or so but I found when they did (and do) pop up a nice no sugar added fudgesicle or two helps a lot! You can do this! There have been many of us who have had success. Take it one day at a time and when DH eats something tempting around you, just say to yourself: "I you know what ________ (fill in the blank) tastes like. I don't need it!" Then go try on some of your clothes in your closet. I find that a stick of sugarless chewing gum, a bottle of water and session of trying on stuff in closet cures the cravings quick!

Sheree - I hope you had a great trip. Congrats on not gaining anything!

Melissa - your anniversary trip sounds great! I don't think I could have resisted that chocolate either. I also don't think I would have come back without a weight gaine! You go girl!!

Hi all. Been a good week here. I'm down 1 1/2 lbs for the week and I am 0.2 lbs from my next clippie. I sent in my resume for a new job yesterday. Sure hope I get the job. I need to start working full time again.

Mandee - Congratulations on the weight loss. When you get into phase 2 hopefully it will be easier to find something to satisfy yourself when your husband goes for the "junk food". There are a lot of good substitutes for your favorite foods. It's just a matter of finding the ones that work for you. Also, hopefully your DH want eat it around you as much.

Lisa - Congratulations on the continued weight loss. Just remember the warning he had in the book about spending too long in phase 1. You need that variety in your life.

WTG Jeremy and Lisa!!! You guys are really onthe way down, congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Great results all! Wow. I have decided to add the "keeping a food journal" tip to my regimen. I think it will help me keep going on the right path and not cheat. I have heard this works well and I don't want anything to prevent me from this last ten lbs. I hope it works.

Good luck Melissa. I've never kept a food journal. Never found a need too. However, I do know for some it really helps. Good luck!!!
