South Beach Dieters......... Unite

I was thinking the same thing!!!

How is everyone doing?? I know that spring is almost here, and there must be some goals that we are trying to reach. Hang in there everybody!!!!!

I'm just checking in with all my Beach buddies. Things are going well with the Oprah Boot Camp Challenge but it's hard giving up my beloved whole grains. I've got another week 12 days to go. It's tough but I can make it.

The scale doesn't seem to be cooperating but my size 12's are getting lose so hopefully size 10 is on the horizon.

Sheree - what a good question. Let's see, my goal by spring is to be in a size 10. That seems reasonable. And to make it through the Oprah challenge which ends in May.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Lisa, don't forget, more weights and workouts will stop you from losing for a little while. You are building muscle and that weighs more. You will lose inches first and then the weight will drop. Hang in there.

My goal is to get through the stress pressure cooker I am in right now, and to go away next weekend with my hubby and NOT go off program prior to our getaway. (And to not cheat while I am away.) My scale, I got a different one, is not cooperating either. NO CHANGE, and I have been really good. Maybe it is the muscle thing since I am working out more. Oh well.
Main goal by spring- STAY ON PROGRAM!!! :cheer2:

Hi everyone
My goal is to have 25 lbs lost by the end of March.....I'm at 18 right now so hopefully I can get 7 more lbs off in the next 3.5 weeks......but most of all just to stay with the program, keep exercising and don't gain anything back!

Hi everyone! My goal is the same as Lisa's goal. Like her, my scale is not budging either. I ready for this weight to fall off because I'M WORKING MY BUTT OFF! :rolleyes1

You all have some awesome goals. One of my main ones is to get my arms in shape for those tank tops I want to wear. No more wiggles. I want to tighten and tone before the short weather really sets in.

BTW, all of you who have the extra working out going on, be patient. The scale will move, but with all the extra movement, weights (if you are using them) will cause the scale not to budge!!! Then woosh.................

Sheree - Shelia and I are going to hold you to this one about the scale moving again eventually! It's so frustrating. I think next week I'm going to do mostly cardio routines and just do weight lifting 2 days out of the week. With my old schedule I was doing the weights every other day. We'll see if that helps.

Great springtime goals everyone!!!!

hold me to it!!!! Please do because it's true. However I wouldn't cut back to much on the weight training. It does wonders for ya!!! I'm weight lifting every other day now. I let those muscles rest those 24 hours and then right back at it. Tomorrow, right back to weight training, then Sun. cardio. It's a routine that seems to be working for me, and even though I'm maintaining, I've lost some more weight, down to 123. It's terrific and I'm not even trying!!! Lost another dress size now down to a 2. I know it's the weight training, and I won't even apologize!!!

Hi all. This weeks been a slow week. I lost 1/2 a lb. Hopefully next week will be better. It seems to go that way. My seem to lose in stages. It is a nice day here. 52 degrees outside today. I'm going to go for a long walk this afternoon. I have meeting this evening at church starting at 5:00 so my evening is shot. It was good to hear about everyones good results. It definately helps keep me motivated.

About my goal for spring, I have almost already made it. Last fall several of the Walmarts and K Marts had clearances on Shorts for $1.00 a pair. I bought several pairs in a couple of sizes. I figured even if I could only fit into 1/2 of them it would be cheaper than buying new this spring. I can button all of them now. Some of them are a little tight though. I should have bought some in one size smaller.

Terrific results out there, you all!! It's inspiring to see so many committed people!

Yesterday, my DF-i-L celebrated his 70th birthday with a big party, and the cake was my DM-i-L's special family recipe. I won't torture anyone with the details, but suffice it to say that this is the most deliciousest cake in the whole wide world, and partly because it is an enormous effort to make, it only comes out at the most special occasions, such as big birthdays.

I was a very good thotfulspot all week so that I would be able to have a slice and feel good about it, and so I did. Mmmmm. Mmmmmmmmm.

Today, of course, I stepped on the scale and found that after not exercising yesterday and eating that slice of cake, I've lost a pound. So, clearly I need to have my DM-i-L prepare that cake for me more often, as it magically melts away the weight!

Today, it's back on track, working out and eating treat-free. Hope everyone's enjoying this lovely Sunday!

:sunny:

I'm just checking in with you all. I'm down 1 pound this week and I'm excited about that because it means that I've lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks on Oprah's challenge. Yay! It's been hard doing without the whole grains and I'll be ready to add them back after I do week for.

I'm really glad to see my weight going down again because it had started to creep up and that was depressing.

I hope everyone has a great Beachy week!

I just made the most delicious dinner -- vegetable lasagna with thinly sliced, roasted eggplant and zucchini in place of the noodles. I know that I have a recipe for exactly this creation somewhere about, but I couldn't lay my hands on it, so I modified another recipe.

I started with the South Beach tomato sauce from the SB cookbook; then laid out the roasted zucchini in a layer on top; ladled out a cheese layer made from ricotta, cooked and squeezed-dry spinach, an egg, and pesto sauce all mixed together; covered that with a layer of roasted eggplant slices; topped it with more tomato sauce; and put mozzarella slices on top. In the oven until the cheese was bubbly, then yum!!

Best of all, there was plenty left over, so I can look forward to more tomorrow!

:goodvibes

Ugh. New scale weighs me 3 lbs heavier than old one, and it refuses to move!!! Its been days and nothing. I am still working out, eating much less. So frustrated. :sad2:

Melissa, that working out for you. Don't give up!!!!!

It moved!!! Hallelujah! 3 lbs down!!! Whoo Hoo!
Thanks for the encouragement. I am off to my workout!!
