Thinking about taking my dd (14) on a nov3-7 trip to Disney. Normally would stay at Pop but nothing is available. We typically stay Beach Club/Boardwalk/AK when with the rest of the family. If it's just one of the kids and I we do POP. Any advice on where to stay the deluxe are too far out of price range. Port Orleans Royal Room is available and I've always thought that would be fun and it is a girls trip. Just worried about the transportation. AoA only has suites available. Caribbean Beach is available but that resort seems too large and spread out although it does have the Skyliner. Any thoughts?

Royal rooms pretty - but I love that section of Riverside the best anyway. The drawback is the walk to the food court - it isn't as close as staying in Alligator Bayou. The drawback with their transportation is that there are multiple stops around the resort before heading to a park so the bus will take a little longer or might be full and you will have to wait for another bus in the mornings. I agree on Caribbean Beach as is it a sprawling resort. The suites at AoA are really nice and they will give you plenty of space to spread out. But have you considered Swan or Dolphin or even the Reserve? If I had only Royal Rooms or AoA to choose from I would go with Royal rooms for the cost. But AoA will have more direct transportation to and from the parks. You can always catch the POP bus if it comes first at night and walk back to AoA.

if you like the Crescent lake area, did you try checking for rooms at the swan or dolphin? Often can get for the same or not much more than the moderates.

Have you considered Gran Destino Tower at Coronado?

My concern with the royal rooms at POR is how long has it been since refurb.

Caribbean Beach with the Skyliner is very convenient especially if you can get a preferred room.

I second looking at Swan and Dolphin. Alternately, check out Coronado Springs. It’s our favorite moderate, and we stay standard. We’ve found busses to be best of the mods. Depending on budget, you might be able to even do a tower room, but it’s never been our priority.

Stayed at POR in June and the internal bus loop was not as big of an issue as we feared it would be! Never had a full bus show up at the station and the stops go by quick, truly. The royal rooms are a dream too!!
