Geepers~ maybe they just need a whole board for stroller questions! I had no idea there were soooooo many lightweight strollers out there! Our travel system was a gift, so we are just now even learning all about strollers.
We are mainly purchasing this new stroller for WDW trip in May.

Here are my questions:

-I found great deal on the Combi Savvy DX which has cup holder attachment and few extra features than the normal Combi Savvy ... sale ends 12/31 ... do you have a preference if anyone owns either of these? The regular Savvy is pricing at $84 with free shipping and the Savvy DX is $119 with free shipping.

-The cup holder attachment looks basically like a fanny pack that attaches to the handle and has two "bottle holders" and a pouch in the middle. Does anyone know if you can put a normal drink (from mall food court, etc) or is it mainly a pouch for water or formula bottles? The picture is hard to tell and no description online.

Thanks in advance!

We have the Combi Savvy DX and I took off the cup holder/pouch thing after the first use. It's really a bottle holder, and it's only narrow enough to hold standard Evenflo bottles. It didn't really fit Avents. The pouch is only useful to an extent. You wouldn't want to leave anything valuable in there if you were going to park your stroller. My point of comparison is the cup holder tray that comes with the Gracos... I wish Combi had something similar, but you trade compactness and weight for that convenience, I guess. There is a pocket in the back of the shade that can hold soda bottles (capped) but nothing really that will support an open or lidded cup of soda.

I concur with the above poster, that the "pack" that comes with the more deluxe Combi strollers is useless. We had one with our Combi double, and it was never used, except to hold our camera, or the kids sippy cups. It isn't very supportative and won't hold any type of beverage that isn't in a hard plastic cup like a bottle or sippy cup, so don't think you can use it for your beverages. I loved my Combi and it was very lightweight and compact. If that's what you're looking for, Combi is definately the way to go.

i still have my pack on mine, but use it for bottled water etc. at wdw, we put our park maps in it.....there is a zip sections too for snacks...but if that's the only diff between the 2, go with the cheaper one if it has a basket (impt).

Thanks guys! I was just wondering how the cup holder pack worked! Thanks for saving me all that extra $$$ ... :) We will probably order the one w/o the pouch. I also saw on the combi website, where you can order that extra as an add on for around $15. We may get the stroller and then see if it we want to order the extra thing!

Can you leave the pouch on there while you close up the stroller? Thanks!

i leave the pouch on all the time...it's small...the size of a fanny pack with bottle holder/draw strings on the side.

Just one note - not sure if it belongs here. But, do you own the combi stroller already? The reason I'm asking is that I always notice how short the handlebars are on these strollers. I always see tall people hunching over to push them and that's got to be so uncomfortable.

Laura - we are going to purchase one ... we don't own one already. We did a "test drive" at our local BabiesRUs and we are short enough that it os ok for us! LOL! That didn't sound quite like I wanted but you know what I mean! LOL!

Whew! I was trying to be helpful - but I was worried my question would come accross as insulting to Combi stroller owners.
I think they are great strollers - they are unfortunately to short for me and my husband.
Good luck and have a great trip!

I completely agree that the pouch on the Combi stroller is worthless. The only thing I put in there is my cell phone when we are in the mall. The two side "bottle" pockets are very narrow. The middle zip pocket is wider, but not the right shape to hold anything like a drink.

Just another note on Combi:

I HATE the Combi double stroller! I am a nanny, and my bosses have the Combi double. While it is light and VERY easy to fold, it is a nightmare to steer once the children are toddlers. I have one child about 36 pounds, the other is about 24 pounds. If I am not going in a straight line I am in trouble. Also the side-by-side makes it nearly impossible to get in the door at the mall by myself. It is hard to shop with it because it doesn't fit between racks. And the children can reach each other's drinks, etc. The little one just LEANS over in his sister's half of the stroller and swipes whatever he wants from her. I am MUCH happier with the front and back double strollers. I used those for years and found them easier to steer and easier to keep the children from harrassing each other.

Happy strolling, everyone!

I have been using the Combi Savvy for 2+ years (including its "breaking in" vacation trip to WDW) and have enjoyed it. It is very easy to fold and have found the attachment pack to be somewhat handy. Good for bottles and small sippies, but not good for adult size anything or a drink that should not tip. The holder sits at an angle and anything not securely shut would definitely spill. The middle pocket is sizeable enough for my keys, credit card, small snacks, pacifier...I have found it to be convenient. I like this stroller also for the headphone and CD player pockets. My little ones have always listened to lullabies while in bed and it worked out great while in the stroller as well, as long as I tried to benefit from naptime tunes AT NORMAL naptimes! This is a feature I only found on Combi's and it helped us out. As far as WDW travel, this stroller proved to be a quick folding model and easy to transport on and off resort buses, as mine has a handy shoulder strap. Good luck to you in your shopping! (P.S. This Combi stroller was the fifth stroller I have used in my line of four kids and I have been pleased overall!) :flower1:
