Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

I am finally caught up on your TR! I read all of the updates that I missed on my phone last night before I went to bed, I missed SO much while I was in Disney! :faint: Bad news is...I'm never going to remember everything I wanted to comment on! What I do remember is how you got the title for your TR, that was awesome! :cool1: I'm sure Gaston was thrilled to have someone tell him that other people are more important than he is! :rotfl:

And all of your pictures of the Wilderness Lodge before you left, love them! My favorite resort! I think I love the Beach Club as much as the WL, but I consider the WL my home, there is just something about that place that makes me SO happy! I really have to do the tour you mentioned someday, I hope they still do it!

Your room at the Boardwalk is so beautiful, but that view!!! OMG it's perfect! :thumbsup2 See, now I'm having 2nd thoughts about the Yacht Club, which is where we are booked for December, now I want to switch to the Boardwalk! Although, the bounceback that I used is only good until Thursday, the 4th, and I definitely want to stay until at least Sunday or Monday, so maybe I can rent points at the Boardwalk? Do you think that will be impossible in December? I know that's a popular DVC time, right?

Anyway, that view, I think if I stayed there and had that view, I'd never want to leave, it is seriously that wonderful! It's funny, I used to think the Boardwalk pool area was too crowded for me, because you can see the Swan (or Dolphin, whichever one that is) and it looks so close, but now I like that, it's like you're in the middle of everything!

Your dinner looks great, I really need to go there someday, if I ever stay at the Boardwalk, I'm definitely going to try it!

Ugh, I always have stomach issues in Disney, because you eat so differently there, it's a lot to handle! I always have a huge supply of Pepto and Tums with me at all times! :rotfl: Too bad you had to miss Illuminations, but with all the drunk people it sounds like it would have been annoying anyway. People definitely get crazy during Food and Wine! :drinking1

Okay, you almost have me convinced that BWV is wonderful! I LOVE the little kitchenette style and your view is fabulous! So much better than sitting on your balcony out on the boardwalk, I think. BUT you are only showing the back/top of that scarey clown! We walked around in the pool area one evening - I think I had nightmares that night! :lmao:

I know Nick will make a good choice for himself. Sounds like they will all be good, and it's great if he can finish with no loans! (From the mom and MIL of two teachers who are up to there in eyeballs in student loans):thumbsup2

I'm sorry about your rumbly tumbly. Ummm, I hate to be indelicate, but you said it first - I had to :rotfl2: when you mentioned "crappy cell phone pics" right after your foray into the restroom. :rotfl: Again, I apologize, I just had to go there.:goodvibes

Woah could your view be any better?!:thumbsup2

Agh, I hear ya on the IBS. I have it as well, but I believe it's the opposite kind that you have. And it always happens when i'm on vacation. Hate that. Well, at least you got to catch the tail end of Illuminations.

Our room was ready, where would it be and what would we see?
We were going...

And like Mary Ellen, I needed to take some mandatory room shots

The sun shining in beckoned me and I am pretty darn sure I squealed when I saw this

With that it was time to come back in to the room and check it out a little more

I will say one thing about the layout. The actual shower/toilet area is arguably one of the smaller, if not smallest I've seen and for whatever reason, ours did have some low lighting issues. My guess is that the resort as a whole has some needed electrical upgrading but I digress. It was still cute!

I believe we both went back outside to finish our margaritas. Which means more pictures of our view. We could hear a little bit of the music from the pool and I LOVED that.

PA207134.jpg

Say what you will about the creepy clown, it's a cool slide!

Pool games!

Now. At this point in the afternoon I had a decision to make. Chill in the room, on the verandah, head back to the pool or do something else. It was about 3:45 and our dinner ressie was at 7:20. Which meant I had some time. Time for what you ask?

I was on a mission remember? Well two actually. Pins and T shirts. Since we had our own private entrance so close I decided to go do some work. I’d been slacking on the pins and needed to get busy. Plus I had promised some specific T pics that hadn't been taken yet. Let’s go shopping!

I decided I’d go to my furthest point in and then work my way back. First stop was the main pin trading station, Pin Central, where I didn't see a darn thing. Next stop was Mousegears where I had a similar experience. This is all I found of interest.

Apparently I made my way round via Canada

Where I considered this shirt for Jeff

IMG_1246.jpg

And then decided to head the other way

IMG_1247.jpg

For a glass of sauvignon blanc! Which is on the top of the sign in case you missed it lol.

Next stop, and nearby, I went into the Port of Entry. HereI found a couple I liked. I was grooving on the retro Epcot shirts in honor of the anniversary but didn’t think the boys would be as into them. Just in case, I took a pic of the ones I liked best.

And one for Jeff

IMG_1251.jpg

Then strolled around, enjoying my wine and catching a few performances on the way to my primary destination

My destination? The markets by the African Trading Post. I knew they had the “new” world showcase shirts. Get ready for the parade of nations! I mean tees...

Whew! All that photography and the long walk around and the heat and the crowds gave me an idea. I needed to go somewhere cool...somewhere inside...and somewhere preferably without the insane kiosk lines I was seeing (funny how that will happen at 5:30 pm on a Saturday night in the WS during F&W huh).

I decided to pop in for....

IMG_1265.jpg

Another glass of the lovely verdicchio that I’d had earlier in the trip on my visit at Tutto Gusto with Pat and Mary Ellen. Plus I fancied a whole glass, not spending $4 for a taste and figured they could make one to go.

And they could!

IMG_1266.jpg

IMG_1267.jpg

As I exited, I realized that the next Eat to the Beat concert was about to start and it featured someone I wanted to hear. So I stayed to listen for a bit while keeping an eye on the time. I still needed to shower and change for dinner.

Okay, cheesey but I loved it. Totally high school déjà vu.

Apparently so did a lot of other people, check out the crowd leaving

Ok, I can breathe now

PA207175.jpg

While waiting for the crowd to clear, I popped in here

PA207176.jpg

These guys were having fun, I swear he had at least 5, possibly 6 glasses of bubbly. Clearly he’d been a server at some point, if not currently.

PA207178.jpg

I decided to get a photopass on my way out

First up, my camera

Oops, not quite ready for the shot thank you very much!

That’s better

By now it was 6:20 and I was going to be cutting it close to shower and dress in time for our 7:20 reservation. I booked it back and got ready as fast as humanly possible. I am fairly sure we were on time and as Mary Ellen mentioned we weren't seated right away but didn't have to wait too terribly long.

I loved the interior here

IMG_1269.jpg

IMG_1271.jpg

Cute bar area, if you were traveling solo or just wanted to do a walk in dinner I think this could be a great adult only option

IMG_1273.jpg

I didn’t choose a flight and instead opted for a full glass of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blan,c (yay for receipts!) one of my favorites.

IMG_1270.jpg

Apparently I did not get the same starter as Mary Ellen

I have a major weakness for crab cakes

And then, mmmn, the Tuna!

I absolutely adored our meal here. My favorite of the trip and loved everything about Flying Fish from ambiance, décor, food, service and location. A perfect date restaurant for Jeff and I is all I could think of and it made me fall in love with the Boardwalk area that much more. We did decide to skip dessert, there was one in the WS for F&G that I’d had my eye on and that, with Illuminations, sounded like the perfect end to the evening. Poor Mary Ellen’s tummy didn’t think so. I don’t recall what I was carrying bag wise but what I do know is I didn’t have my food and wine map with me and for some reason was very off on where I thought the dessert I wanted was. Which was at the Champagne lopcation. Which was all the way back by Port of Entry. For some reason I’d had it in my head it was in the middle of the WS and hoofed it all the way around starting in France. By the time I got there, we had less ample time than we’d had before! Still, I got in the very long line and waited my turn. Ah, Saturday night during Food and Wine.

IMG_1276.jpg

A glass of imperial please, with a lemon custard on the side.

Now I was a little worried about this combo. I’d been avoiding bubbles pretty religiously for over a year. All bubbles and carbonation, soda, champagne and beer. I’d had one glass on the cruise and it didn't sit terribly well. But it was food and wine and well, why not. At least I’d know what I was getting into and was making an informed choice.

This poor CM was taking remote orders I am sure in an effort to speed up the line but it wasn't really helping. Bubbly isn't something you can speed pour, that’s for sure. By now Mary Ellen had met up with me and gotten in line.

IMG_1279.jpg

10 years later she had her drink and we headed back to England to find a spot. And a killer spot we did find over by R&C, though as she mentioned there were LOTS of very happy people. Happy drunks though.

I too have only crummy cell phone pics

With that it was bedtime. Tomorrow would be my last full day. WAH!

Cynthia - I am dying to know what t-shirts you ended up getting after seeing all these pictures!
Your room was awesome! What a view! Glad you said it was not standard, lest someone think that was typical! We definitely want to try staying at BW next trip. Maybe if we don't go during F&W we can actually get a room at 7 months!

So did the bubbly work okay for you? Sure looked yummy! I LOVE Illuminations! I listen to that music so often when I need to relax! It's very moving and inspiring to me.

eandesmom - I love those WS shirts! I've never even stopped at that place before, but perhaps I will next time for my DH. He's not really into 'Disney' apparel, but I think he'd wear this and that's good enough for me :rotfl:

I absolutely LOVE FF! One of the best Signature restaurants. I also love the ambiance and decor of the place.

Great job on the T-shirts. Awesome use of time between room being ready and dinner.

Flying Fish will hopefully be done soon. ::yes:: Looks great.

Great updates ladies! Love the room pics and all of the shots of your view! Can't wait to have an opportunity to stay at BW and try Flying Fish sometime!

Mary Ellen, I love the way you tried to delicately tell about your tummy rumbling! :rotfl: With all ths shopping and clothes discussions around here, it's great you included something for us guys to enjoy. ;)

Cynthia, love the WS T-shirt pics and you have some great shots of Illuminations! :thumbsup2 And :woohoo: on the "Survivor" concert.

Like I said he is far from perfect. :lmao: But even with all those "faults" he is better that some guys I know. :rolleyes1.
Seems like a little bit of "faulty" reasoning going on here.......

Hopefully he isn't better than ALL of the guys you know........... :scratchin

Thank you Cynthia for the view information. We won't be spending our countdown dreaming of the view, you might have saved us from some disappointment;)

Nope Bo is not better than ALL the guys I know... just some.. ;)

I would love a man that cooks, cleans and loads and UNLOADS the dishwasher, doesn't mind short shopping jaunts, and long walks through Disney.
I know BO can't do all that. He is rather "stuck" with what he CAN do and that is greet everyone with a smile and be that strong silent type, even if he is a little shallow.

Thank you Cynthia for the view information. We won't be spending our countdown dreaming of the view, you might have saved us from some disappointment;)

Well just to be clear, it does depend on how you booked, if it is a dvc points reservation then no, a standard villa booking would not get that view, but if you booked dvc as a cash reservation either through member services or CRO then yes you could end up with this view. All the cash booking classify pool/garden views as the standard and only available booking.

Thanks, we are renting points, so it will be the driveway view, but heck, it's most likely better than the view than I've got right now...we're up to our eyeballs in snow:crazy2: Thanks again for the clarification though!

I'd have the member request tennis court, couldn't hurt :) Mary Ellen had a parking lot driveway view one the first floor and they ended up really liking it I think as with the landscaping you really didn't see the driveway much and it was great access, patio though but light be some bring to consider as well. No matter what, you can't beat the location, the pools, the everything!

What excellent room views! :worship:

I love the looks of your meals at Flying Fish. I really need to give that place a try sometime.

Cynthia, hooray for more t-shirt photos! I never take enough time to look through the shops (I blame the attractions!) and it's so much fun to see all they have to offer! Feel free to post more!

Now, that's what I call a "nice" update! ;)

Again, I love the room location and the view is just awesome!
All the T-shirts look really cool, so I can't wait to find out which ones you really bought.
Dinner looks good, guess we need to get ourselves back to FF any day soon.
Great pics of Illuminations too. :thumbsup2

wow, what a room and what a view! Amazing! The kitchen is so cute! Also, how awesome is the proximity of your dinner? And Epcot? Again I say, amazing! Your meals look really awesome. I've never been to the FF, looks really cool inside!
Mary Ellen, so sorry to hear about your tummy troubles acting up. Not much worse than feeling below par in wdw. :sad2:

AT the conclusion of Illuminations we walked home. And I am here to tell you that there is NOTHING better than walking out of Christine's private entrance and heading back to the Boardwalk.

I believe you!!!

Cynthia - I just love all your t-shirt pics! I feel like I'm window shopping! Hehehe. Also love your pp pic!
